They do and I always wear mine. I think all motorcyclists should. However, I do not think all motorcyclist should HAVE to. The choice should be yours. You know better than “Nannie” what your life is worth.
My son is an avid cyclist (i.e., bicycle, not motorcycle). One day he was out riding, hit a bump, and was pitched headfirst over the handlebars. He landed on the top of his helmet. The helmet was ruined. He came through without any injury.
I always wear a helmet when I'm riding my bicycle. Had a few spills, but no broken bones and especially no head injuries.
