This is a good argument for a deal between Trump and Cruz, that would follow this outline:
1) Cruz throws his support behind the Trump nomination and election;
2) In return, Cruz becomes the Solicitor General (AG has likely been promised to Christie already - otherwise, give that to Ted);
3) Cruz gets to select ALL federal judges while he holds that position, present 2 or 3 recommendations for each position to President Trump, and Trump than rubber-stamps one of those people vetted by Cruz;
4) At some point of Cruz’ choosing, Trump nominates him to serve on the Supreme Court. Perhaps Trump and Cruz can convince (the apparently corrupt) Roberts to resign “for health reasons” or “to spend more time with his family” or some such figleaf of a reason, making Cruz the CJ for the next 35-40 years. Oh, and as a benefit, it is pretty much a given that the Senate will approve him - after all, it takes him out of direct involvement in politics, something that the jackasses like Lindsey Grahamnesty dearly want to accomplish.
Cruz’ impact on our legal system would be absolutely immense, something that no person could be ashamed of as the capstone to a lifetime of achievement.
Maybe they can make peace, but I don’t think Donald would make a good president. I trust Donald less than I did Romney when Romney changed his positions JUST BEFORE DECIDING TO RUN for POTUS.
