I agree. Michio Kaku is probably another. They follow in the footsteps of Carl Sagan as TV celebrity scientists. They are selected for promotion for many reasons. One requirement is that they have the proper (leftist) ideology.
So what's going on here? Many blacks have a problem with Hispanics (mostly all Mexican). They compete for jobs. Perhaps they will compete for white guilt attention and affirmative action. It's not likely that a Hispanic scientist will take Neill's spot soon. He may have relatives, friends or acquaintances, who feel threatened by Hispanic competition.
Neil will be back on the democrat plantation shortly
The Left loves Degrasse-Tyson because he is "proof" that all "real Black people" are nineteenth century European materialists to whom spirituality and supernaturalism are totally alien.
You'd think he had the same attitude towards Trump voters as the people he's criticizing.
This is true. The uniparty hates and slanders Trump’s voters like they hated and slandered the Tea Party.
Your comment led me to an interesting thought. I agree that both parties are irritated by the working class white voter who won't get behind leftist causes. They are both openly embarassed by them, in fact. Whether mocking them as "bitter clingers" or calling them "low information" or "fly overs" they certainly resent that they have a voice in our system at all.
But has the strategy to marginalize them been to agree to simply split them between the parties? Pander to them a little differently to get some of their support but make sure that neither party gets all of them. That way their voice is absolutely minimalized.
Then along comes a guy who says "come to me, all of you" and look at how panicked the entire field is on both sides. Hmmmm....
Yeah, me too. Wait, no nevermind.
