Trump will figure it out. He’s had very successful well attended rallies with very short notice. He’s got an airplane hanger one today, they seem to work well.

I think he's going to keep canceling just to build it up, then schedule one, get them all to come out in one big act of collectivist orgasmic hate, violence and nihilism for all the country to see. Always it's proper management of theatrics (media) with Trump, usually he's days, weeks, months ahead of the point of whatever he's doing in any given moment.

Not that the Chicago cancelation was itself planned ... but Trump's thinking is 'ok, we've got this thing now, canceling in Chicago do to these people, let's use it and build it in a way that ends it or at least benefits my direction and interests.'
