Adblock is supported by donations, same as FR. (On Firefox) If you click Tools->Adblock Plus you will see a button on the bottom of the menu, marked "contribute to Adblock Plus"

I tried AdBlock but found it was heavy and hogged memory.

A Freeper mentioned “uBlockOrigin” - amazing product and much better than AdBlock. Faster and MUCH lighter on memory.
