Trump: "I’m changing it, and I’m softening the position" - what is he changing and softening?
March 4, 2016 | self

Posted on 03/04/2016 6:45:43 PM PST by ConservingFreedom

He stated this morning that he wasn't talking about H-1B:"Megyn Kelly asked about highly-skilled immigration. The H-1B program is neither high-skilled nor immigration".

So what WAS he talking about? What's his new position and how was his old position different? Will he ever tell us?

Here is the statement from Trump's web site.

https://www.donaldjtrump.com/press-releases/donald-j.-trump-position-on-visas

Position-on-visas

- March 04, 2016 -

Donald J. Trump Position on Visas

"Megyn Kelly asked about highly-skilled immigration. The H-1B program is neither high-skilled nor immigration: these are temporary foreign workers, imported from abroad, for the explicit purpose of substituting for American workers at lower pay. I remain totally committed to eliminating rampant, widespread H-1B abuse and ending outrageous practices such as those that occurred at Disney in Florida when Americans were forced to train their foreign replacements. I will end forever the use of the H-1B as a cheap labor program, and institute an absolute requirement to hire American workers first for every visa and immigration program. No exceptions."

If Freepers have questions about Trump’s position, then I highly recommend going to his campaign web site first.

https://www.donaldjtrump.com/

The Establishment Media has been caught in so many lies that you can’t trust them anymore. They are filthy degenerate globalist rats.

Whatever happened to the old "quota system by country" that worked so well from early on in our country's history? I know it was changed during the Kennedy era to favor turd world country immigration, but I've heard nothing that there still is ANY quota system...and if there is, how and where do we see the facts and figures...and is it still being enforced...or is it completely wiped off the books ???

One never hears about it any more in the media or elsewhere.

My point was that cruz is not actually a conservative and that Trump’s platform is the actual conservative agenda.
——————————————————————————————————————————————————Until he “evolves” on his newly discovered conservatism.

Cruz has a 90 some percent conservative rating. Not perfect by any means but if Trump held elected office for the last 20 years he would either be a RINO or liberal Democrat

Let’s not forget all the OTHER things Trump has done.

Let's not forget his flip-flop-flipping either.

Trump set the national agenda by opposing illegal immigration and bringing up other issues

He did, and that was a great public service ... too bad he changes his positions more often than most people change their socks.

Gosh, w/o context, it’s hard to tell -

What more "context" is needed? You know there was a debate Thursday night, right?

why don’t you just spell it out so we don’t miss your "point".

I can't see a way to make it any simpler. Sorry it's still over your head.

I'm asking it here. Not having an answer would bother any Trump supporter that was engaged in political decision rather than hero worship.

Go ahead and argue all you want with Trump all you want, but the statement on the website is pretty clear.

Common admit it you know Fox News was ambushing Trump. It was a bloodbath lynching of Trump. Anything but Fair and balanced.

Each debate is more rigged than the last, and Trump keeps winning despite what the Establishment throws at him.

Megyn Kelly looked like some type of Angelic Valkyrie but her eyes had witch like focus and hatred.

And he put both feet in it - hardly the worldly-wise leader he'd have us consider him. (Cruz, by contrast, took ambushing moderators to school a few weeks back.)

re:
‘’Cruz still stands behind the 500% increase in H1-Bs, but he does now say he will suspend the program for 180 days for evaluation.’

I don’t understand why he can’t evaluate it, now.’’

An excellent question.

01. There are scores of well written analyses in existence, for example:
http://www.sessions.senate.gov/public/_cache/files/67ae7163-6616-4023-a5c4-534c53e6fc26/immigration-primer-for-the-114th-congress.pdf

02. The hold is meaningless because the annual allotment of H-1B’s is ‘sold out’ within in a few days of being issued.

But there’s nothing like a good dog and pony show called a congressional investigation to distract the masses LOL.

The hold is meaningless

Are these meaningless? From https://www.tedcruz.org/cruz-immigration-plan/:

Amend the H-1B visa program to fulfill its original purpose: Work with Congress to pass reform legislation for the H-1B visa program that will:

Cruz has a 90 some percent conservative rating.

And just where do you think TPA and the corker bill fit into that conservative rating. Those were the two most significant pieces of legislation out of Congress in the last two years. Did cruz push TPA through congress, or vote for the corker bill because that is what his constituents wanted? Or was it because that is what goldman sachs and the CFG demanded it after funding his Senate run? And how do you think Texas would have voted in that Senate race had they known that they were electing a Canadian citizen as their Senator? Texas is very patriotic, no way they elect a Canadian to represent them in Congress.

Re:”What I got from it was that he is changing his website to reflect that some of the highly qualified foreign-born graduates trained in U.S. colleges won’t be forced to go back to their countries immediately upon graduation.

Those students get F1 visas, not H1B. Everyone in the media who talks about Trump changing his position on H1B visas is just fabricating a story. The word H1B wasn’t mentioned in the question or the answer, and the type of student Trump talked about in his answer gets the F1 visa.

By the way, this was always Trump’s position. Go to his announcement speech and you’ll hear it right there. So he is changing the website.”

Yup

and note Trump did not say staple a green card to each F1,

Additionally I noticed that none of the talking heads and their followers are asking why Sessions who has a history of collecting data, presenting well researched reports on the damage of free trade agreement, replacing Americans, and has worked closely with Trump in Immigration is endorsing Trump LOL
