Distractions are Barack Obamaâs best friend.
While most of us focus on tonightâs eighth Republican debate or last weekâs Iowa caucus or what have you, 44 was busy doing something behind our backs knowing that the media wouldnât report.
However, not everyone turns the other cheek, Mr. President.
From IndependentSentinel:
The Trans Pacific Partnership, one of the biggest multinational trade deals ever, has been quietly signed by ministers from its 12 member nations in New Zealand.
The 12 nations account for some 40% of the worldâs economy â they now have two years to ratify or reject the pact.
Not a word about it in our media.
âA trade deal is a contract, and it must be one that puts American workersâ interests first, not the interests of global elites,â Senator Sessions of Alabama said in a statement. âIt is little surprise the administration is not showcasing todayâs signing given its unpopularity with the American people.â
This is something Donald Trump would call a âbad deal,â ala the Iran nuclear agreement.
A study found that 450,000 people will lose their jobs over the next nine years as part of TPP, and the measure will be brought before Congress with an up and down vote, meaning, no amendments.
After pushing through Obamacare, this is just another job-killing day for the Commander-in-Chief.
>> Please tell me what is more important than the loss of American SOVEREIGNTY?
Thanks for asking! Burning in hell for all eternity would definitely be more important than loss of American SOVEREIGNTY.
Do you know JESUS as your Lord and Savior?
Before you were born.
We should all send Ryan and Cruz a big sloppy kiss for helping to destroy America./s
I don’t kiss on the first date.
:>)
Praise GOD!
The name alone is worth a BTTT. Thanks for the OUTSTANDING post. BTTT!
We need Trump to be President more than ever.
2. Club For Growth fervently supports TPP.
3. Club For Growth has (so far) donated over $700,000 to the Cruz campaign.
Don't forget what NAFTA did to us:
NAFTA was simply economic permission to crush U.S. tariffs, so huge companies could produce products overseas for embarrassingly low wages and then import the pieces back into the U.S. either whole or for assembly, without paying previously-imposed tariffs. Wages and environmental regulations were laughable, though many companies have now fled Mexico in favor of even lower wages and virtually no pollution standards in third-world countries.
No amendments, no filibusters, a straight majority vote and about a 6 vote lead in a senate full of so-called purist free traders. Ted Cruz’s cloture vote allowing TPA was the crucial vote in the game he played. They won’t need his vote in favor. There will be enough rinos to give cover. They probably made that deal at the cloture trading time.
