Andrew Johnson was a successful tailor, Warren Harding was a successful newspaperman, Herbert Hoover was successful in mining and George H.W. Bush apparently made his money in oil. What do you mean we haven’t tried it before?
Now, successful businessmen that made great presidents? Not so much. Military men (go Gilmore!) and actors apparently make the best presidents. I guess it could be argued Trump is an actor, but it was reality TV. Professional politicians can go either way.

Hey, don’t forget that James Earl Carter was a successful peanut farmer. I guess that counts as “business.”
