I'm still trying to figure out what Newton meant when he said, and I paraphrase: White people don't know what to make of me because they don't have anything to compare me to. Does that mean he's the greatest quarterback of all time? The only great black quarterback? The first good black quarterback (which he isn't)? Has he clarified?
I’m sure there are a lot of quotes from guys like Bret Favre and Terry Bradshaw that are pretty hard to figure. When Cam does it, it’s probably just as amusing, but it seems more sinister because race is involved.
Newton was being badgered all week about race by the leftist, racist “sports media” and one of his responses came out wrong. Newton has since clarified and said “it’s not about race, black or white, or any of that stuff - it’s about playing football.”
Again, this morning, some “sports journalist” was spewing bulls*** and comparing Newton to Obama and their “shared struggle.” Race hustlers never, ever quit.
These games, like all football games, are decided by the defensive front sevens and the offensive lines. If they play to a draw then it’s up to the QB’s and RB’s. Based on that the edge goes to Carolina.
I am not sure what he meant. He did come back later and try to walk back the racial aspect of his comments.
Contrast him with Russell Wilson, another black quarterback, who is a consistent class act - on and off the field.
