Why the strategy the Broncos used to clobber Tom Brady may be useless against Cam Newton

In the AFC Championship, the Denver Broncos defense clobbered Tom Brady, sacking him four times, hitting him 20 times, and forcing him into two interceptions.

Newton was being badgered all week about race by the leftist, racist “sports media” and one of his responses came out wrong. Newton has since clarified and said “it’s not about race, black or white, or any of that stuff - it’s about playing football.”

Again, this morning, some “sports journalist” was spewing bulls*** and comparing Newton to Obama and their “shared struggle.” Race hustlers never, ever quit.

These games, like all football games, are decided by the defensive front sevens and the offensive lines. If they play to a draw then it’s up to the QB’s and RB’s. Based on that the edge goes to Carolina.

No, classless as in tearing down other team’s banners, disparaging other players, showboating after almost every big play, and trying to explain why he isn’t liked by turning it into a race thing.

I love his enthusiasm and have heard nor seen your horror stories. We follow Panthers closely.

Title is silly. The Broncos won’t prepare for the Panthers like they did for the Patriots. They’ll prepare for the Panthers. Amazing grasp of the obvious alert! DOH!!

Then you live in reality vacuum. Everythin I said has been widely reported in the press, and you can witness his showboating in every televised game.

In fact, I was at the Ford dealer yesterday, and a conversation about the Superbowl started up in the waiting room. Everyone there who spoke was rooting against the Panthers. Why? One guy (not me) brought up what a no-class clown Cam was, and I heard at least 3 people agree.

I’m sure he’s popular in South Carolina; a successful local quarterback always is. But outside of the area, he isn’t much liked.

I am not sure what he meant. He did come back later and try to walk back the racial aspect of his comments.

Contrast him with Russell Wilson, another black quarterback, who is a consistent class act - on and off the field.

And to make his performance as a QB all about race, just like everything else in our society today.

I certainly don’t mean “classless” in that way, and I suspect you and I would get along just fine. What I mean by classless is someone who brags about himself, loud, obnoxious, talks over people, trys and promote himself by verbally tearing down others, etc.

Hi T-Bird45,

May I ask you a question? I didn’t play football in HS. I understand the importance of watching the Atlanta game tape. But is it ever profitable to watch tape of what “failed?” I would think it could be as instructive as the “successful” tape. Especially if Denver’s personnel and defensive scheme is closer to a team that lost to Carolina. Thanks for helping me learn. I certainly don’t mean any ill to you.

His race rhetoric is one clue on how classy he is.

I have not seen that side of his behavior; I usually skip the postgame shows and pregame hype. The sportstalk gossip as well.

I enjoy watching the kid play, as I do many others.

I have not seen that side of his behavior, either, nor heard about it until your mention of it.

I take that back; I just searched and found the bit about “some critics...race” comments. Now I remember reading it, and not being especially bothered by it. If I were a young black man, I might cop the same attitude, who knows? But he doesn’t come across as one of the hatewhitey brigade.

Check with the NFL on jersey sales nationwide. Cam is #2. I’m sure he’s loved in South Carolina even though he plays for a North Carolina team.

You may want to see some of his recent off field comments. I admire his playing ability. I dislike his (and others) need to celebrate like the WWE.

But I abhor his racist rhetoric, where he has said (paraphrased) that people don’t like him because he’s black.

"Cam Newton is such a classless clown."

Newton is an arrogant jerk. Yet he has been blessed with God given talent to back up his antics on the field. Athletically, he is that good.

This Manning/Newton thing is sounding a lot like a Trump/Cruz thread. Yikes!

Agreed. Do you think Arizona and Seattle tried the same thing, though. Both teams with impressive defenses got blown away. If Carolina does that a third time they are very worthy champions, to say the least.

I want to see DeMarcus Ware get a SuperBowl ring and then flash it in front of Jerry Jones’ face.
