Trump: "Ted Cruz Didn't Win Iowa, He Stole It;" Cruz Committed Voter Fraud
iOTW Report ^ | 2/3/16 | Aurelius

Posted on 02/03/2016 6:33:10 AM PST by rightistight

Accusing Senator Ted Cruz of voter fraud, Donald Trump today argued that Mr. Cruz "stole" the election in Iowa.

"That is why all of the polls were so wrong, and why he got far more votes than anticipated," Mr. Trump said on Twitter, suggesting no one predicted that Mr. Cruz would win:

Ted Cruz didn't win Iowa, he stole it. That is why all of the polls were so wrong and why he got far more votes than anticipated. Bad!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 3, 2016

Mr. Trump then went further, saying Mr. Cruz committed fraud, suggesting that Cruz's campaign suggesting that Ben Carson would drop out amounted to fraud, as did his campaign's mailers about "voting violations:"

Many people voted for Cruz over Carson because of this Cruz fraud. Also, Cruz sent out a VOTER VIOLATION certificate to thousands of voters.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 3, 2016

The Voter Violation certificate gave poor marks to the unsuspecting voter(grade of F) and told them to clear it up by voting for Cruz. Fraud— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 3, 2016

Carson went into the caucuses polling no higher than 10% (real clear politics). He ended up with 9.3%.

Show me an alternative result where Cruz’s teams mistake changed anything.

The political process is corrupt to the core. Trump is up against more than he realizes.

Trump’s tactic is to be ridiculous to garner a response from the media. In this case a detailed look at what happened in Iowa. He’s been doing this all along.

Cruz is a slime ball politician. That much is crystal clear now.

Hope that knot you tied to the Trump suicide Pact ain’t so tight you can’t get it undone. Then again, ride it out, we don’t need or want blind lemmings over here anyway.

Ted’s faith: Situational Ethics? The end justifies the means? Spewing Bible verses and taking on a televangelist-type preaching cadence doesn’t translate to anything particularly wonderful when it comes to faith. It’s creepy.

Automatically believing the worst about someone because he is not your candidate is not a Christian attribute.

As a Cruz supporter I’m just really glad Trump has decided to run with this line of attack.

Me too.. I really want the REAL TRUMP to be exposed and the more he is crossed, the more it is beginning to be out in the open. He is a controller and cannot be crossed well. Look at the past few months.

I might be able to handle all that in a candidate. The main problem with Trump is he is a liberal.

I don’t believe in polls. People that know me here know my credentials. When I say polls are not to be believed, you can take that to the bank.

I am giving information from contacts on the ground. You can take it or leave it. It has nothing to do with polls.

Hopefully Cruz gets knocked out in the primary because his scandals will destroy him in the general.

Yep. The GOP is saddled with two front-runner candidates who would be horribly weak in the general election. Clinton* would eat either of them for breakfast.

*Sanders will make a good run of it for a while, but ultimately can't beat the Clinton Machine.

how can you assume that all of carson’s voters would have gone exclusively to cruz? on what basis?

isn’t that a bit of a stretch?

there is no statistical validity to that assumption.

I get it...people are upset about this, but lets not lose our critical thinking skills.

I live in Iowa...and I am engaged in the political scene here. I can tell you this, for a FACT:

there is little fire here in IA for Ben carson. he is not that popular here. he finished 4th in this caucus, and his vote totals, by county, were consistently...4th, by percentage. little variation across the state, county to county.

this was a non-issue, in my opinion.

So you feel the same way about CNN who broke the story right? Cruz’s people only repeated it.

“It is a mistake to think that Christians ought all to be teetotallers; Mohammedanism, not Christianity, is the teetotal religion. Of course it may be the duty of a particular Christian, or of any Christian, at a particular time, to abstain from strong drink, either because he is the sort of man who cannot drink at all without drinking too much, or because he is with people who are inclined to drunkenness and must not encourage them by drinking himself. But the whole point is that he is abstaining, for a good reason, from something which he does not condemn and which he likes to see other people enjoying. One of the marks of a certain type of bad man is that he cannot give up a thing himself without wanting every one else to give it up. That is not the Christian way. An individual Christian may see fit to give up all sorts of things for special reasons — marriage, or meat, or beer, or the cinema; but the moment he starts saying the things are bad in themselves, or looking down his nose at other people who do use them, he has taken the wrong turning.”

Do you believe that a charge of voter fraud should be backed up with some kind of evidence that votes were indeed stolen?
