Does ISIS Have Nukes?
Director Blue ^ | January 31, 2016 | Baron Bodissey

The following video and text don't supply an answer to that question.

The author of the text (which is in German) is purportedly a former member of the Islamic State who wants to warn the West that ISIS possesses four nuclear devices, and plans to use them against the United States, Russia, France, and Germany. What he says may well be a hoax, or more specifically, deliberately planted disinformation to achieve particular political ends. I can think of several Great Powers who would find it useful to disseminate the fiction that ISIS is ready to use nuclear weapons.

However, it could also be true. If it is, you may be sure that the intelligence services of Russia and the major Western powers are well aware of it. As the ISIS defector points out, the West has moles inside the highest levels of the Caliphate.

Before making this video, Vlad and I discussed the pros and cons of whether we should publish this material. After all, it serves the propaganda interests of the Islamic State to have this sort of thing disseminated. On the other hand, if it turns out to be true, and a mushroom cloud were to light up Berlin or Paris next week, we would have been remiss not to have put the information out.

So here it is, but with a huge CAVEAT: We have no idea whether the information given in this video and text is authentic. Listen to it or read it, and make your own best judgment.

The video and pdf were originally published by Netzplanet, which is also unable to confirm the authenticity of the story.

The text read out in the video and the text of the pdf are the same. Many thanks to Nash Montana for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes for the subtitling:

Baron Bodissey is a fictional character created by one of my favourite sci-fi/fantasy writers, the late great Jack Vance. Baron Bodissey mainly appears in chapter headings to “The Demon Princes as the author of the fictitious 12 volume ‘Life.’

Here’s the wiki page, with some of the quotes attributed to B. Bodissey.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baron_Bodissey

“To create a society based on caste distinction, a minimum of two individuals is both necessary and sufficient.”

Pretty funny.

Their truck bombs are almost as powerful as a tactical nuke.

So if they’ve got ‘em they have to use them within the year?

Seems like that would fit nicely with Obama’s plan to be POTUS for 8-10 years...

I love that I know a guy like you who got to do some real s***. :)

Break it down for the less educated, tho. Explain in more detail while ISIS would use a nuke right away if they had it. Your comments are cryptic enough that, yeah, *I* understand them, but Freeper Gertrude in her robe and bunny slippers will still be freaked out at the headline of this thread.

Help Gertrude sleep better tonight. :)

If they got a professionally-made nuke, then they would need to light the firecracker pretty quick, yes. If they cobbled together a homebrew, the odds are about 99% that they would get a fizzle, not a bang.

Look at the easy path......

nukes are expensive

obama gave iran who hates us 150 billion dollars

Pakistan who would sell their mother to the highest bidder builds nukes

Iran shares a border with ....... pakistan.

What could go wrong ?

It doesn't matter if ISIS has nukes or not at this point.

If they had them, you can bet the farm they'd use them.

For that reason alone, ISIS must be destroyed. Every. Last. ISIS. Member (and their families for good measure!)

Gertrude will now fail to sleep for a week.

And since she drives a school bus, you have put children in deadly peril.

What would be their delivery system?

Wrap it in a bale of marijuana and walk it across our southern border...

Having a foreign enemy combatant in our White House really sucks for the civilized world.

North Korean ones would probably have a high chance of fizzle-factor.

Iran has not even touched one off yet.

Pakistans are reasonably good, though, so we can freak out about Squantos’s comment.

I don’t plan to sleep for a month.

But then again, I’m on meth.

This is WAY beyond politics.

The danger of having a foreign enemy combatant in our White House, who has been arming, training, funding, excusing, and providing access to our sworn enemies while disarming, withholding training, defunding, blaming, and restricting patriots and our own military.... is WAY beyond politics.

Politics is mostly a distraction.

Kids are tough..... they’ll get a dead cat bounce er two.

Research how many above ground nuclear weapons tests were conducted in the 50’s and 60’s....in just Nevada.

We set off simulated point six (.6kt) kiloton nukes with 2400 tons of ANFO at white sands in the late 80s , harvest gold was the project. No radiation ...... just blast effects. Twas an eye opener.

I also believe that if they got control of a nuclear weapon they would use it almost immediately.

Consider what would happen if Russian, Israel, or even Saudi Arabia had solid intel that ISIS had a functional nuclear device? Now, forget what bammy & crew would do - probably send them help with maintaining it "for everyone's safety."

But if these other powers who have felt the sting of ISIS' found out ISIS had nukes... They wouldn't hesitate, they wouldn't take the chance that they might draw the short straw and be the ones ISIS picked to use it on. No, any of them would immediately marshal their forces and absolutely level any place and every place ISIS might have it stored. No worries about collateral damage or civilian casualties, no quarter given, bomb those sites back to the stone age then bounce the rubble.

Now, you think ISIS may have worked that out on their own too? That nukes, while extremely powerful both physically and politically are a tremendous liability? So if they had one or more, every hour they held it/them would increase the likelihood of getting completely stomped, possibly even hit by a tactical nuke themselves. So if they ever get one, they need to use it quickly. That implies they would want to already have plans drawn up to use whatever they might obtain - so that they could go on mere minutes or at worst a few hours notice. Anything else, they risk it leaking, and total annihilation.
