Romney is/was a weak-kneed spineless baby. American men are not known for these qualities. Romney will have nothing longer than a one sentence footnote in American history. Trump will have a whole chapter. A book probably.

That’s why.

Trump is more conservative because Trump is willing to fight the media cartel that has taken control of the country.

Romney was not. A candidate who will fight the enemy is far better and more likely to accomplish some of Conservative’s goals than one who will not even acknowledge that there is an enemy.

That is the difference.

Trump is MUCH less conservative than Romney. And Romney is not particularly conservative.

Donald Trump is going to destroy the GOPe-led Republican Party!

Romney was the GOPe’s sacrificial lamb to keep True Conservatives from obtaining power in the Republican Party.

He isn’t.
On the other hand, he has immensely better political abilities than Romney. Otherwise we wouldn’t still be talking about him. Your best leader must be able to lead, otherwise he is useless even if he is an exemplar of purity and virtue.

The difference between Donald Trump and Milt Romley is that Milt Romley is far too much of a gentleman to have strongly held principles that he is willing to fight for.

I’m for Trump and I’ll admit he’s not more conservative than Romney. On the other hand he is more likely to get conservative and right-of-center policies implemented than Romney was then and any other candidate is now - because I can see him getting elected.

I’d prefer Cruz’s policies, but if he is elected I don’t see him getting much done - both Rs and Ds will fight him. I don’t see him negotiating anything better then Trump will. Trump will likely give more on left policies that he doesn’t consider a priority to get more than Cruz on issues he does consider a priority. I think his priorities match mine.

I may end up wrong but I think he will get a lot done that I like on
* immigration (illegal, H1B, etc),
* trade/economy,
* taxes (and regulations, US manufacturing, jobs, etc)
* Iran/Iraq/Syria/etc.
* Military
* Gun rights
* Debt (and possibly SS solvency)
* Religious rights

All of these need cooperation/negotiation with Congress (I don’t like EO’s from either party). And that means some concessions to liberals (reality is that the country is heavily divided). I’m happy with what I think Trump’s priorities are and with what I think about Trump’s abilities to get the most with the least concessions. I don’t think he’ll deport 11 million illegals or put a huge tariff on China. But I do like those as opening proposals for negotiating with Congress for a compromise. I don’t think he’ll try to stop gay marriage. But I do think he will try to restore religious rights to not participate in gay marriages (as well as prayer and religious symbols in public and other restoration of right to religion).

I think Trump values individual and states’ rights more than any D and many Rs. His court appointments won’t be as good as Cruz’s but I think he will do a good job on this and I’m not sure Cruz could get his preferred judges past the Rs, much less the Ds in congress. (yes, I’m aware of Trump and Kelo/eminent domain)

Trump hasn't been part of the eGOP "scene" in DC and those that have spent their entire lives climbing the social ladder in the eGOP are scared they won't retain their positions if Trump wins. Period. THAT is why they oppose Trump.

If the only thing Trump does is build the wall and stop the illegal alien inundation, that will be enough for me.

Once The Great Wall of Trump is built, the following issues will begin to be resolved:

Jobs

Better wages for us.

Medicaid

Emergency Services

Crime

Anchor babies

Social Security

Overcrowded schools

Less traffic congestion

Fewer auto accidents

Reduced drug running

More room in our jails and prisons

Fewer new diseases.

No more need of “Press 1 for English”

Trump is solidly against illegal immigration and excessive legal immigration, an issue that represents an existential threat the the United States. Moreover, Trump is a fighter and has a record of accomplishing large projects, traits that distinguish him from many conservatives in Washington.

Trump is far more conservative on immigration than Romney was, and that is a key issue, perhaps the most important or our time.

Romney and Bush are administrators. Trump and Cruz are leaders. American needs a leader right now.

Differences Between Managers and Leaders:

by Warren Bennis

The manager administers;
the leader innovates.

The manager is a copy;
the leader is an original.

The manager maintains;
the leader develops.

The manager focuses on systems and structure;
the leader focuses on people.

The manager relies on control;
the leader inspires trust.

The manager has a short-range view;
the leader has a long-range perspective.

The manager asks how and when;
the leader asks what and why.

Managers have their eyes on the bottom line;
leaders have their eyes on the horizon.

The manager imitates;
the leader originates.

The manager accepts the status quo;
the leader challenges it.

The manager is the classic good soldier;
the leader is his own person.

The manager does things right;
the leader does the right thing.
