“Star Wars” is NOT based somewhere in the history of humanity on earth, as the implication was that it all took place long before and apart from earthly colonization and its evolved civilization. Therefore, there would be none of the religions as they developed on earth.

It is possible to believe that a sort of Zen-like belief in the power of the Force may have developed independently, as part of the code by which the Jedi lived. But the evolution of a theocentric civilization did not seem to arise in the universe of “Star Wars”.

The opening crawl even states this: “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....”
