LEVIN: Friendly advice, Donald, and I do mean friendly...
Doug Ross@Journal ^ | 1/16/15 | Doug Ross

Earlier today, Mark Levin posted a collegial bit of guidance for Donald Trump, who has ratcheted up an increasingly hysterical grab-bag of attacks on his only real competitor for the GOP nomination, Ted Cruz. And said attacks are simply smears like "birtherism", not policy-based differences.

Attorney, author, and radio host Mark R. Levin Either cut the crap - your accusations this morning that Cruz is Canadian, a criminal, owned by big banks, etc. ("Trump Tees Off: Cruz A 'Canadian' Who Goldman Sachs, Citi Bank 'Owns'") - or you will lose lots and lots of conservatives.

Save the liberal New York City bully tactics for the New York City liberals. Put down your computer keyboard for a few hours, think before you tweet, and collect yourself. You're not politically invincible, regardless of the polls and media.

I am already hearing more and more people getting fed up with the low road you're taking against Cruz, which has obviously intensified this morning.

You don't need to attack his honor or attempt to smear his reputation. You can leave that to Mitch McConnell and the New York Times.

Engage on real and substantive issues that matter to the country. Like I said, my friendly advice. Trump's increasingly anxious rhetoric is ironic given his troubling shifts in position as the race nears its conclusion.

Remember when Donald Trump supported an assault weapons ban and then lied to AmmoLand about it?

How about when he supported fourth trimester partial-birth abortions, citing his "New York" values?

As for being "owned" by the banks, can you guess whose properties are mortgaged to the hilt and has already declared his businesses bankrupt four times?

Look, I would support Mr. Trump over Hillary Clinton because I would support the bag-lady on 34th Street over Hillary Clinton. I would like Mr. Trump's supporters to make the same statement about, say, Mr. Cruz.

That many will not make that pledge, apparently mesmerized by a cult of personality, says volumes about the nature of Mr. Trump's support.

This has been posted 500 times in the past 2 days.

Just because some blog re-posted it does not mean it’s new.

Lay off my guy. You're hitting too hard! Cruz is the anointed as the “conservative one.” The “chosen one.”

First time I’ve seen it. Levin asks the same questions about Trump’s tactics that I do. Why not stick to the issues rather than simply smears? Trump, who I’d gladly vote for in the general, is sounding a lot like McConnell did when attacking Matt Bevin in the Kentucky primary

First time I have seen it. I do notice the standard trumpet refutation, sarcasm instead of substance.

Don’t look. It isn’t like it doesn’t happen all the time on your and other sides.

No. But I expect Sarah and Rick Perry Cruz endorsements any day now, no telling who else. Levin may go ahead.

The reason Cruz supporters are so angry at Trump, is that the meme of Cruz as “the smartest guy in the room” has been destroyed.

The Harvard debate champion, the smartest guy In the room, the photographic memory wonder child, got his ass spanked by a blustery NY City tycoon.

It was so bad Cruz was left with no other option but to look at Trump, who had just rhetorically smothered Cruz, and smile and applaud.

When is the last time you ever saw a debate participant applaud his rival for the effectiveness and devastating nature of the retort.

Epic and game ending.

Only the ignorant fail to understand what Cruz was eluding to during his NY values comments. None the less, just as politics go, the comments were misconstrued and twisted into a hit against Cruz.

Trump is a liberal Northeastern Yankee. I I I, me me me, I'm great, you're stupid, look what i’ve done, you're a loser.

Typical blow hard, obnoxious, squeaky wheel North / Northeast Yankee. We will see how well he does in the South.

I can tell ya this, most democrats (exception She-Jack) in Texas are far more conservative than republicans in New York...it's just a simple truth. Donald Trump is not a true conservative like we define conservative in Texas.

“Birthright Citizen” means BOTH daddy AND mommy were citizens.
NOT one a Cuban (OR Kenyan, for that matter).
That’s in the the CONSTITUTION—and that can only be changed by an amendment—NOT judicial or legislative fiat.

The DIRTY LITTLE SECRET nobody’s discussing is that Obama is no more qualified than Cruz. Now, live the lie—die by the lie.

Read the Constitution hundreds of times since I was a small child - never saw the word “birthright” in the text. Can you tell me in which article/section I can find it?

Didn’t Trump give Cruz legal advice during the debate?
