no one will be surviving.
I can not agree. I plan one meal per day...and snack. I am alone but pack for 4, so I can share or eat well for 2 days without refrigeration.
It is not hard to plan ahead and rotate canned goods and dried products. After about 2 years I will have to break out the 25 year foods and get serious about the gardening.
Yes, pasta meals will be boring, but creative baking and fresh fruits in season will help break up the boredom.
Plant right away...carrots and lettuce can be grown right along the house in the other foliage and be less obvious than a raised garden. Seeds are cheap and keep well. Get a book on edible plants too.
