Grab a coffee, because this is soup-to-nuts.
Many people will awaken today to the news of approximately 100 to 150 armed militia taking control of a closed Wildlife Park Headquarters, and not know the full back-story â so here it is:
The short summary is: in an effort to draw attention to a ridiculous arrest of a father and son pair of Oregon Ranchers (âDwight Lincoln Hammond, Jr., 73, and his son, Steven Dwight Hammond, 46,) who are scheduled to begin five year prison sentences (turning themselves in tomorrow January 4th 2016), three brothers from the Cliven Bundy family and approximately 100/150 (and growing) heavily armed militia (former U.S. service members) have taken control of Malheur Wildlife Refuge Headquarters in the wildlife reserve. They are prepared to stay there indefinitely.
Hereâs the long version: including history, details, links video(s) and explanations:

Dead center perfect.
You find some humor in the murder of almost two dozen small children by being burned alive by their government?
That video is worth watching. Thanks for posting it.

Half way to Frenchglen. Post office, general store, not much more at the base of Steen’s mountain. Some of the best trout
fishing in the west.
“They can’t change the sentence after the fact...”
Exactly!
And this point is what needs to be the focus of the protest, hammered repeatedly. THEY’VE ALREADY SERVED THEIR TIME.
By mixing in a bunch of other details, the focus—along with widespread support—gets lost.
Which is why people are scratching heads, wondering what’s going on here.
They can if the original sentence was unlawful.
“What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.”
Thomas Jefferson
to James Madison
“They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
Ben Franklin
American Statesman
“The greatest danger to American freedom is a government that ignores the Constitution.”
Thomas Jefferson
Third President of the United States
“There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters. “
Noah Webster
American Lexicographer
“Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence ... from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable ... the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good.”
George Washington
First President of the United States
“To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.”
Richard Henry Lee
American Statesman, 1788
“Those who hammer their guns into plowshares will plow for those who do not.”
Thomas Jefferson
Third President of the United States
Thanks for that...

Thanks for posting this. Gives a good history.
They burned prairie grass. HARDLY ARSON. Screw the vourt S, screw Obama, screw BLM and they damn well better not harm one hair on one head of these patriotic Americans.
When the courts are corrupt, no amount of "legal representation" will bring about justice.

Seems like the Judge didn't impose the mandatory sentence. They served the imposed
sentence and not the Feds are forcing them to serve the minimum sentence.

(q) June 22, 2012, Dwight and Steven were found guilty of starting both the 2001 and the 2006 fires by the jury. However, the federal courts convicted them both as "Terrorist" under the 1996 Anti-terrorism Act. Judge Hogan sentenced Dwight (Father) to 3 months in prison and Steven (son) to 12 months in federal prison. They were also stipulated to pay $400,000 to the BLM. Hogan overruling the minimum terrorist sentence, commenting that if the full five years were required it would be a violation of the 8th amendment (cruel and unusual punishment). The day of the sentencing Judge Hogan retired as a federal judge. In his honor the staff served chocolate cake in the courtroom.
(r) On January 4, 2013, Dwight and Steven reported to prison. They fulfilled their sentences, (Dwight 3 months, Steven 12 months). Dwight was released in March 2013 and Steven, January 2014.
(s) Sometime in June 2014, Rhonda Karges, Field Manager for the BLM, and her husband Chad Karges, Refuge Manager for the Malheur Wildlife Refuge (which surrounds the Hammond ranch), along with attorney Frank Papagni exemplifying further vindictive behavior by filing an appeal with the 9th District Federal Court seeking Dwight's and Steven's return to federal prison for the entire 5 years.*

But they might have singed the hair on some rare species of Prairie Dog.
They must be punished. The Federal Bureaucracy must be dominant over all mankind.
Yep. Oregon won’t let the feds up their wolves so this is another way to put ranchers out of business. God Bless these folk and may their numbers rapidly multiply!
Why is Conservative Treehouse in BLOGGERS? It provides more actual news and analysis than the NYTimes, WaPo and WSJ put together
That was the story put forth by the Hammonds. A jury of their peers, however, heard the evidence (including the testimony of a nephew who witnessed the fires being set), and found them guilty of arson.
Amen.
