Well, they’re not applying, it seems.
I believe part of the problem is we’re paying too much for those on the back end of their teaching careers than on the front end.
I know teachers less than 50 years of age that have retired. They’re on the taxpayer’s dime the rest of their lives.
We might have more want these jobs if we could offer them more. I say make those retiring at 50 work until they’re 62 or more. There would be a lot less positions to fill.
