I can't imagine the whiskey would have improved
since it was in glass...if the corks dried out,
which after so long is almost a certainty, it may
have oxidized...still wouldn't mind trying it. ;~)

If the bottles were sideways, the plugs would not dry out. (Corks in whiskey at that time, or ever? Wine? Yes. Whiskey?)
