Because the Russians never do anything unless they've first calculated how they're going to advance their own geopolitical interests as a result.

Good thing Western politicians don't engage in this sort of behavior, Dan, it would be downright embarrassing.

Putin seems to be the only one who has a coherent strategy over there.

I think Putin’s strategy is to protect Mother Russia. Syria falls and with ISIS apparently in Turkey, that creates a middle east bridge directly to Russia.

Looking at it from this perspective creates the illusion that Obama supports that land bridge as it wants Syria to fall.

I dreaded clicking on the link, but then read this:

You may be rooting for the Russians now because they’re doing the work we should be doing. You won’t like what happens when the Russians demand the price.

Looks like this writer gets it.

If you are going to redact an article, for godsakes redact it fairly so that you don't misrepresent the author's main point.

What appears to be a hit piece on Russia, from your redaction, in fact takes an entirely different view. For example, you edited out "The price of America abdicating its leadership role on the world stage is not just that battles are left unfought. Someone’s going to fight them, and that someone sets the agenda for the world’s direction once the battle is won."

There you have it. It is a hit piece on Obama, not Putin.

Next time, try to be fair. And get a clue. Despite the child composition rules taught in American schools and colleges, the first sentence is not always the topical sentence of either the paragraph or the article. Often it is a lead-in to get you to pay attention so that you will read the main point.

“”Remember the last time we decided to let the Russians do a significant share of the fighting for us in a war?””

The answer is NO. I don’t remember taking issue before this with any writer that Canada Free Press will publish but this guy is nuts. The Soviets were defending their homeland against Hitler. When did they do our fighting for us? They lost according to some sources up to 20,000,000 civilians and military personnel fighting for their own country. We met up with them in Germany.

Where were they in Belgium? Where were they in Italy? Where were they in France? Where were they in North Africa? Where were they in the Pacific islands? Where were they in the Philippines?

I guess you don't recall that they were allies before Hitler got greedy.

Worse. It was written (and I use the term loosely) by a blogger.

And posted by a blog pimp who piggy-backs on FR donations to pimp his own blog.

Now quitcher complaining and donate so the blogpimp can do what blogpimps do.

I don’t think we’re on the same page. I wondered why the author thought they fought significant battles FOR us. What does that have to do with them being our allies? Other than when they joined the US troops on the way to Germany, where were they doing OUR fighting for us?
