Top U.S. Air Defense Commander: Turkey’s Shootdown of Russian Jet “Had to Be PRE-PLANNED”
Zero Hedge ^ | 27 Nov 2015 | George Washington

Posted on 11/27/2015 12:53:16 PM PST by amorphous

In his role as Norad commander for Alaska, McInerney dealt with more Russian fighter jet incursions (which he calls "bear penetrations") than anyone else in the world.

So McInerney knows how to tell innocent from hostile incursions by foreign fighter jets, standard rules of engagement of foreign fighter jets, how to read radar tracks, and the other things he would need to know to form an informed opinion about the shootdown of a foreign jet.

Yesterday, McInerney told Fox News - much to the surprise of the reporter interviewing him - that assuming the Turkish version of the flight path of the Russian jet is accurate, Russia wasn't threatening Turkey, and that Turkey's shoot down of the Russian jet "had to be pre-planned", as the jet wasn't in Turkish air space long enough for anything other than a premeditated attack to have brought it down:

I'm not whining about a thing. And I'm not running to Google to engage in any tu quoque logical fallacies in favor of Mother Russia.

I will say that, Russians playing stupid annoys me sometimes. Imagine a Turkish jet straying into Russian airspace and getting shot down. What excuses/justifications would you make then, comrade?

My post #73, as the latest example.

In that case, maybe you should consult google, as you seem to have problems discerning importance differences between border incidents where aircraft are shot down and those incidents in which were they weren’t.

If there was an important difference, then why did you bring it up in the first place? Jeepers.

"Excuse me, here is an example that is not relevant to the discussion."

Really, are you seeing Russians everywhere now? Maybe there is something you can take for that?

Don't you realize this thread wouldn't even exist if the Turks hadn't ambushed and shot down the Russian jet?

What excuses/justifications would you make then, comrade?

The US didn't shoot the Mexican helicopter down, therefor no need for this type of thread to discuss such, bro.

Most important first:
The US didn't shoot the Mexican helicopter down, therefor no need for this type of thread to discuss such, bro.
The don't search for, and post a link to a story of such.

Least important next:
No, I don't see Russians everywhere. I do see obsequious pro-Russian sychophants on FR Russia threads. They crack me up. And the more you squirm, the more Russian you are. So just think of the "Russian"-thing as shorthand.

Well when you insisted both should be given the same priority here on FR, I assumed you knew something I didn't (i.e., the helicopter had been shot down).

In the future, now that I know you are having discernment issues, I'll try to be more detail oriented - maybe even include pictures for ya. :-)

I do see obsequious pro-Russian sychophants on FR Russia threads.

You sound like you're having the same problems as Obama - maybe he could advise you on what to take for it?

The Russians put out a map showing the track of the Fencer south of the disputed "finger" by one kilometer. The Turks say the Fencer crossed that finger. My point is that even if the Fencer crossed that piece of airspace there is no way to shoot after the Fencer entered Turkey, have the weapon hit the aircraft inside Turkish airspace, and have the Turkish aircraft stay in Turkish airspace. Those three things could not have all happened.

This is a colossally stupid thing for the Turks to do. They just made it open season on their jets going into Syria. This is a bad thing for all parties involved.

Or maybe you could just avoid FR Russia threads. Hey, that sounds like something easy enough to do! Even for you!! ;-)

The Russians admitted that the jet crossed into Turkish airspace. You missed that part.

Let's review (and I apologize in advance for not typing in Cyrillic). I said that, if the Mexicans did the same thing the Russians did, FReepers would be up in arms about it (as they should be). No one would be posting information about how the geographical location is "disputed," and certainly no one would be posting links to irrelevant newspaper articles.

And these threads are fun, I'm not going anywhere.

Hang around all you wish. You're a funny guy, as we discussed on the other thread last night.

And I sincerely don't mean to hurt your feelings or to question your intelligence, but I just don't have the time to explain things to you 3 or 4 times and you still not get it.

Especially when there are others here who also wish to discuss world events. Perhaps someone else does though.

Best of luck to you and I suggest you keep trying to figure things out. Eventually it should become much easier for you. ;-)

Nite!

Look at the map in post 36. That is the story being floated today by the Russians.

I stand by what I said. Who is correct about the border incursion is irrelevant. This was a mistake by the Turks.

I can imagine a Mexican military helicopter flying over U.S. soil, because it happens a lot.

Can you imagine a FReeper making excuses for it happening?

All we know for sure is that we have not seen the end of this. The ball is in Putin’s court now and I sure he has something in mind. He can’t let things stand the way they are.

And you’re OK with Mexican military choppers flying in our airspace? Cripes, no wonder the invasion continues apace.
