Update: Campus spokeswoman Robin Kaler said the University will continue to work with Facebook to have the Illini White Student Union page removed from the site.
âIt is disturbing and cowardly that someone would create an anonymous and senseless social media page specifically designed to intimidate others, including and especially our students. When we became aware of the page, we immediately contacted Facebook and requested that it be removed," Kaler said in an email. "Facebook has been responsive to our requests, but the page continues to be reposted. We are continuing to work with Facebook to address this matter. We recognize that passions run deep on all sides of many issues, but actions like this are senseless and hurtful and do nothing to foster meaningful dialogue.â
Just hours after students gathered in front of the Illini Union for a black student solidarity rally Wednesday, an Illini. White Student Union Facebook page was created denouncing the students and Black Lives Matter protesters as terrorists.
The page directly singled out activists and sympathizers to the Black Lives Matter movement, describing itself as âa new page for white students of University of Illinois [sic] to be able to form a community and discuss our own issues as well as be able to organize against the terrorism we have been facing from Black Lives Matter activists on campus.â(college)

Their first demand should be the resignation of Campus spokeswoman Robin Kaler!
It’s this sewer of a “university” that needs to be shut down. Not a Facebook page.
All whites should just walk out, find another school and let the protestors have the empty buildings.
Why are they against “safe spaces” for white students many of which feel threatened by racial intimidation on campus and black micro-aggression. The Illinois football team should boycott their games until the President resigns for not taking seriously the racism on campus and the systematic intimidation on social media by the University.
“cowardly”... would they say the same of an urban graffiti artist?
“All whites should just walk out, find another school and let the protestors have the empty buildings.”
I would force schools that play this game to declare themselves “safe” schools. Eg. University of Illinois, a safe school. See how quick they jump on that, knowing their student body will shrink by 90 percent.
Honkie Homeland.
This here honkey wonders where the safe zones were on the campus of Newark College of Engineering when neighboring Central High School released it’s students out onto the campus every afternoon.
How so? There is no logic in that statement.
Too true! A friend at Rutgers was terrified as a freshman when his faculty adviser (kind of like a guidance counselor for college) had her ass beaten on the street between Rutgers & NJIT in a robbery. Older Asian woman, really got messed up by some thugs...
The name of that street?
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. BLVD.
That’s right, though some of us still refer to it as “High Street” (the previous name).
Wow. How anti-white of them.
There’s so many of them that need to be shut down or forced to reform.
I ran across this story today.

Facebook took down the page “within three hours” and removed additional versions when they were posted. After seeming success in suppressing the page, the U of I issued a statement that included the ironic comment “We recognize the right to free speech, and we encourage you to exercise that right when you see examples of racism, discrimination or intimidation on our campus”.
Facebook eventually allowed the page to remain:
