Do not make ballistic comparisons between pistol and rifle cartridges for serious uses. Most pistol cartridge velocities are established in 4" barrels whereas most rifle cartridge velocities are established in 24" barrels.
Published velocities for the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire cartridge are established in 24" barrels. Shorter barrels for this cartridge will produce considerably lower velocities.
