And they all want the best and work for "public service", in spite of the fact that they are enriching themselves, protecting the bureaucracy and the public is getting ever poorer.

Clearly they are working for someone else. And they are also, desperately, trying to elicit a nationalist response for reasons that are pretty obvious.

Tough luck for them though because there seems to be no level of indignity, betrayal, insecurity, fear, etc. that the rubes won't take.
