Clinching Texas’ electoral votes is already a given. In that sense, Cruz doesn’t add anything. If the VP has any coattails, then he should come from Virginia, North Carolina, Florida or the Upper Midwest.
It could well be Rubio or Scott Walker. I don’t think it will be Jeb unless the GOP-e puts a gun to his head.
I don’t know if Trump is even thinking of geographic regions but, if he is, he need not look at Texas. If he can’t win Texas, he’s already dead in the water.
The VP coattails in his/her home state is old news....not proven by history, totally irrelevant - and even if it was still relevant, Trump would ignore it just like he’s ignored EVERYTHING conventional. It’s his most endearing trait.
