[[There are many benefits to walking through the woods and searching for deer sheds.]]
Yep, lyme disease, rocky mountain spotted fever, Human anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, Powassan , STARI , Tularemia ,
Hunta virus, bubonic plague, pneumonic plague, West nile virus,
Happy antler hunting
The deer ticks have taken over in my neck of the woods. Disgusting parasites. If I get them early and they haven’t imbedded themselves I just pick em off and kill em. If they have been buried in my skin I go for antibiotics. No sense taking a chance.
20-30 years ago it was only wood ticks and dog ticks....no longer. No spotted fever that I have ever heard of in this locale. Just Lyme.
