The president of the University of Missouri, Tim Wolfe, had to go. He had to go because he benefitted from "white privilege." That, at least, was the victorious argument of the intellectual heavyweights of Concerned Student 1950, who insisted that Wolfe acknowledge his "white privilege" before leaving office in a handwritten - not typed, dammit! - letter.
This raises some rather obvious questions, like: What is "white privilege"? Why is it that Tim Wolfe's "white privilege" mattered while that of Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel (salary: $3.1 million for helping men in pads hit each other) and Assistant Professor Melissa Click (gets paid to study Lady Gaga and 50 Shades of Grey) does not? Why is it that "white privilege" only manifests when the left wants it to manifest? Why do low-IQ dolts make up terms that only apply in Cloud Cuckoo Land, but that we all have to pretend to care about? Was Western civilization truly built brick by brick so that those same low-IQ dolts could mewl about their feelings?
You know, the simple questions.
But let's just start with that first question. What is "white privilege"?

And note that to have a "protestant work ethic" its not necessary to be white. Or even protestant. You just have to work hard and take responsibility for your self and your family.

Exactly so. It's a cultural predisposition. Some of its best examples are neither Protestant nor white, but that Protestant white culture is the prototype, and such a culture is superior.
What is "racism"? Ask fifty people and you'll get fifty different definitions.
White privilege was a blessing of God.
So, just let me ask a couple of more questions so I understand (I only have a public education):
- Don’t racial quotas establish non-white privilege?
- With all of this white privilege going around, how is that people like Dr. Carson, or Justice Thomas, or General Powell, or Condoleezza Rice, or any other non-white person was able to succeed?
Someone explained it in a way that made sense to me (I think on DU - I was really surprised at the source). After reading it I actually agree that white privilege exist. I disagree with the “solution” that was given or with even segmenting children into white/non-white since that’s not the core problem but the explanation makes perfect sense:
* A higher percentage of white children have 2 parents at home.
* A higher percentage of white children have parents who read to them at a young age
* A higher percentage of white children have parents who expect (and help) them do well at school and expect them to go to college.
* ... a number of other items having to do with education and personal responsibility
So the average young white adult has a big advantage over the average young non-white adult (except Asians, and Nigerians and a few other groups with similar parental advantages).
Its not so hard either:
Stay in school
Speak the "King's English"
Show up at the right time, in the right uniform, in the right place, with the right attitude
Find a trade you enjoy after HS (or college)
Get married ONCE, or not at all
Do not covet. Work harder than the next guy/gal
Stay married
Improve yourself and your organization
Don't lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those that do.
Instead of my minority employees being <10% of my workforce, if the sub-Saharan types would adhere to the above, I'd hire them by the boatloads. But I don't AND CAN'T!
It’s something they made up just like everything else they do.
At best this victimization BS is an attempt to empower some one. But you do not empower some one by giving them a victim mindset. This is just an attempt to empower people who are clientizing and patronizing others which is against their higher interests. you empower them by helping them to develop along the lines we developed which is not done by just giving them what they want.
