How many debates are too many?

I know the candidates and I know my vote.

Why does this writer use butt? It’s but. Unless the writer has some sort of weird obsession......

“Kasich lectured us on why “law abiding” illegal aliens can’t be sent home and said he would decide who got to keep their money and who would have to sacrifice it in the event of a bank failure. Hey John, GO AWAY! We don’t need any more imperial presidents.”

Its not so much that he’d act like (yet another) imperial President, as that those particular stands are far more appropriate for the Democrat debate. “Law-abiding illegals” - WTF? Oh, and if Ike could deport a bunch of Mexicans 60 years ago, then we can do the same to them and illegals of all nationalities - and most will self-deport (the same way that they self-IMported themselves, but now they wouldn’t face anyone trying to stop them) after 5% or 10% are deported and employers start to feel the heat through fines and stop hiring illegals (legals are fine - that’s how the ancestors of 99% of us got here and behaved).

BTW, as Trump noted last night, we did this starting in 1954 (in “Operation Wetback” - yes, that was actually the name - PC didn’t exist back then and people spoke their minds). https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2015/08/jeb-orielly-unaware-of-ike-on-immigration Note that while 130,000 were actually caught and deported over several months from California through Texas, some 1 -1.2 million SELF-DEPORTED, fearing arrest. Oh, and THIS is a very delicious irony: Prescott Bush, Jeb’s grandfather, a leading senator and friend/ally of Ike’s, didn’t lift a finger to oppose it.

Both Kasich and Jeb KNOW that we could do it if we put some effort into it over a couple of years, they just don’t WANT to because it’d upset their supporters (and wife, in Jeb’s case). But because they can’t be seen to be supporting a policy that comports 100% with what their biggest donors want, they have to be disingenuous (a fancy word meaning “lie like a rug”) about it not being possible. Ditto on building a fence “not being possible” that we all hear every once in a while - BS, if over 70 years ago we put 16 million men in uniform, produced more military equipment than the rest of the world combined and beat the Germans and Japanese in 3 1/2 years, and if we landed men on the Moon 6 times starting 46 years ago, then we can build a freaking wall.

Fiorina was her usual, hyper-annoying self. I would agree that zero-based budgeting is a very good idea. Maybe the Donald can put her in charge of OMB (after buying her a custom-made muzzle).

Trump - OK, debates are not his strong suit, but his supporters don’t much care - it means that he hasn’t done this nonsense much, which in turn means that he’s not your typical pol. Didn’t score many points criticizing iCarly’s penchant for hogging the podium. I like the guy a lot, but he needs to smile a bit more and let stuff roll off of his back sometimes.

Paul showed what a naive rube he is with his comments on national defense. It is a far cry from having so much power that no one will mess with you or your allies on the one hand, and intervening in every civil war or border spat in every $hithole excuse for a nation on the planet. Yeah, it is great to not have debt, or not go further into debt, but without a proper national defense your prosperity gets taken away, or moved to a distant second on your priority list. Think back to 9/11 or (since it is Veterans Day) Pearl Harbour - who cared that much about the economy on those days?

Rubio is a good debater, and did make some good points about national defense. But he’s actually accomplished WHAT, exactly? Also, his prior behavior on immigration leaves me in the “I don’t trust this guy as far as I can throw an aircraft carrier” mode of thinking.

Cruz - yup, he did very well. Must have it in for the Commerce Dept. though, he eliminated it twice...or else he understands that it is vampiric like many government entities, and you have to kill it twice just to be sure.
