I didn’t support Carson before, and this certainly does not trigger any “rallying around” Carson sentiment for me. I still think this whole thing is tedious and overblown. Carson’s support of TPP overshadows this.

I think his insistence on having had murderous thoughts and corresponding actions as a teenager is creepy. For example, if I were wooing a girl, I would hide that to keep her from running from me. How is it that that is a plus when running for president and trying to woo the nation?

The media has been publishing lies about Trump and trying to take him down ever since he got in the race, and no one gets this outraged about it.

I’m going to have to disagree with Coach on this one. As I suspected Carson is not standing up under scrutiny. He is a weak candidate with poor stances on the issues and screwball ideas that just are not desirable in a presidential candidate. Ben Carson would be a disaster if he were ever allowed to become President. He would stand no chance agains’t Hillary Clinton. Hopefully he will begin to fade and I’m sure his next debate performance will help that along.

I’ve noticed that some fellow Christians are like this, and I have mixed feelings about it. To some people, it’s a contest of who was worse before giving themselves over to the Lord. While I think some people simply share their stories earnestly to prove that anyone truly can be saved, there are the Carson types who will just exaggerate, embellish, and outright lie, as if the worse you are before your conversion, the “better” Christian you are after finding Christ. It’s a game of bragging and one-upping each other for some of these people. I’m glad they’ve managed to find salvation, but I wish they’d be mature enough to realize the you don’t gain more “experience points” for having been the worst scumbag in the world before coming to the Lord. A person who has always walked the straight and narrow is just as saved as a murdered, so long as they both know that Jesus is Lord.

It’s one of the things that really bothers me the most about Carson. He doesn’t seem to have much in the way of moral fiber if he can’t refrain from lying about stupid stuff.
