Bush 41: Cheney was such an ‘iron-ass’; Cheney: Damn straight
Canada Free Press ^ | 11/05/15 | Dan Calabrese

Bush 43 and Cheney took an "iron-#" approach to dealing with the world's bad actors because the 9/11 attacks made it clear that this was necessary

I’m never sure what to make of these way-after-the-fact books that come out, especially when they’re not written by the principals themselves but by a journalist - especially when the journalist in question is liberal creature-of-the-Beltway Jon Meacham.

Meacham’s book is called “Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush,” and the Washington Post reports today that Bush 41 - who granted Meacham extensive interviews for the book - took a few swipes at his old Defense Secretary - who of course was also his son’s vice president:

Seriously.

Read my lips: America has had enough of you and your family, old man. Please fade away quietly with some dignity.

So, the new world order bush guy disdains Cheney and Rumsfeld. Actually I’m kinda proud of my Cold War Certificate signed by Donald. Just my take though. No more booshes.

Yes, I know. I mean, look who Bush 41 gives access for these lengthy interviews to pen his opus? Jon Meacham?

Typical Bush proclivities are to climb on the backs of conservatives to attain power, in order to deliver the country a track to the Left and keep it there.

Jon Meacham? Go figure.

If Cheney were a real "iron ass" then he would have begged W to institute a military dictatorship in Iraq until the US was certain Iraqis could form their own working government.

Why is it that our "leaders" have the guts to declare war, but don't have the guts to follow up military victories with unpopular political arrangements?

Yes the other world "leaders" would have publicly condemned us for being hypocrites, but privately they would have prayed for our success.

Blowing up things and then retreating before "winning the peace" is not a workable foreign policy.

I am glad to see this.

Because now Cheney can tell what he knows about the Bush family and its inner workings.

Bush must be getting senile because every one who has ever been in business knows that it is foolish to antagonize ex-employees because the smart ones can hurt you.

If Cheney was the "iron ass" the left claims he would have used the military to seize power in America until the military was certain the USA could form it's own working government not dominated by leftists.

He could have been the Pinochet of America.

There are days I wish he had been the person the left pretended he was.

Cheney was the real adult male in the room. That’s why they don’t like him.

He was supposed to be a quiet VP, unassuming and only serving the purpose of bringing the vote of some constituency.

I think the Bush clan came to see him as a detriment when he was actually a decisive asset.

He could only do so much as VP. Unfortunate but true. He wasn’t going to lead a coup or anything like that. He was loyal, but did what he could to push the administration in the right direction.

It should be informative that none of the Bushes had/have anything bad to say about Clinton or Obama, but they have no reservations about throwing [former] friends and allies under the bus. Gives one insight into their true nature and character (or lack thereof).
