Iran: hurl scorn at human rights

Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) has arrested a number of families of PMOI (MEK) and former political prisoners early this week. Shaqayeq Azimi, 22, one of the PMOI members whose parents Mahmoud and Fatemeh Ziae were amid the detainees of October 11, has launched a worldwide campaign to pursue her beloveds’ fate. In a meeting of the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom on human rights in Iran at the UK House of Commons on October 19, 2015 via the internet, She described her torment after hearing the news. Shaqayeq has been unable to obtain any information about where her parents have been taken, or what their current condition is. The Washington Times writes: “It was eight years ago in Tehran, but Parisa Kohandel, who was just nine at the time, remembers the authorities coming to take her father as if it happened yesterday. “I was crying, and I hugged him, and they were just searching the home,” she says. “I hugged him so they wouldn’t take him. “Then, they put a gun on my head and separated him from me.” The case of her father Saleh Kohandel, resembles that of dozens of other political prisoners in Iran, the paper wrote. Some prisoners are passing their sentences for their participation in the 2009 protests after Iran sham presidential election. Moreover, the Revolutionary Guards’ Intelligence bodies aggressively pursue peaceful activists, working hand-in-hand with the Judiciary to send them to prison for lengthy terms. Narges Mohammadi, the prominent human rights defender, mother of two has recently been transferred from prison to hospital for worsening neurological condition.it is reported by her family members that she is chained to her bed in hospital. Atena Daemi, 27, serving 14 years for her participation in gatherings against the death penalty, and 28-year-old Atena Faraghdani, serving 12 for posting her drawings on Facebook, are just few of many others in prisons. Fatemeh Ekhtesari and Mehdi Moosavi to 9 years and 6 months and 99 lashes, and 11 years and 99 lashes, respectively, on charges of “insulting the sacred” for the social criticism expressed in their poetry. Bahareh Hedayat imprisoned for over five years as a student and women’s rights activists. She has been given two years additional sentence after Bahareh’s threat to embark a hunger strike for her on time release. Regrettably more than 2000 have been executed in Rouhani’s tenure only 1000 this year. United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Monday condemned the Iranian regime's execution of two minors last week, while voicing his concern about the rise in executions in Iran. "(Ban) is deeply saddened by the news of the execution of two juvenile offenders last week in Iran,"… “Over 700 executions are reported to have taken place so far this year, including at least 40 public, marking the highest total recorded in the past 12 years.” Secretary-General Ban's press office said in a statement. The National Council of Resistance of Iran - Women's Committee has released a shocking report revealing the execution of 43 women under Rouhani (August 2013 - July 2015). Theocratic rulers in Iran are trying to introduce fear and despair within the people who might be vigilant to proclaim their own share of the Iran deal. The regime is on alert to prevent recurrence of social and economical moves like those in 2009. Hot lines are drawn clearly by Iran supreme leader: “brook no dissent”. The horrific human rights record hinged on Iran’s aggressive meddling in the region along with the missile test saber rattling should have awaken the naïve western sides. The world should remain silent in the face of Iran’s egregious behaviors. The theocratic rule in Tehran must be hold accountable for its crimes against humanity in Iran as well as the region. In her message to conference on human rights in Iran in the United Kingdom House of Commons, October 19, 2015, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi called on Britain and all western governments to stop ignoring human rights abuses in Iran and predicate their relations with the Iranian regime on ending the death penalty. Pressure the mullahs’ regime to free all political prisoners.

After reading the preceding (remember poster, paragraphs are your friends) the conclusion ‘Pressure the mullahs’ regime to free all political prisoners.’ reads like a joke. Fr the mullahs and their buddies the response would be ‘Pressure, we sh-t on your pressure infidel swine.’ These folks are definitely an in for a penny in for a dollar types and nothing other than superior force will budge them.

( I have to admit there are a number of so-called liberal literati for whom I would not find these punishments to be distasteful).
