I am not a prepper, but my question is where are you keeping it all? I mean what happens if you are away from home and can’t make it back. Seems foolish to keep it all in one place.

I’m sure this is discussed elsewhere, so just wondering aloud.

I keep a firearm and some ammo in a locked box in my truck. You would not see it if you were not looking for it.

But, if you are not carrying a firearm, there is really no need for ammo.

Unless you carry a couple hundred 22 lr for barter. If you are that far away from home, and you do not have a gun....leave it in a place on your body where it will be easy for the “wolves” to find.

The smart prepper keeps some at home (for bugging in) and has a means of moving as much equipment as possible (part of the bugout plan), and the really fortunate preppers have a remote location (bugout location) where they store half of their supplies or more. The bugout plan with a bugout location is that all members of the party, given certain criteria, get to the bugout location.

By the way, this doesn’t apply only to guns and ammo but to all supplies (food, water, medicine and medical supplies, hygiene supplies, electronics, communications, etc.).
