Ammo Chick asks, "Did one of you boys say you were low on ammo?" >

Possibly one of those rare instances of too much ammo. But she's not at all well-dressed for the desert sun, and she's not really my type.

My type:

Spare barrels, and an asbestos glove.

There was a time I was commuting between Phoenix and Albuquerque on a fairly regular basis.

Whenever the flight attendant doing the preflight briefing said “In the event of a water landing...” the next words in my mind were “... someone’s horribly lost”.

Has there ever been a list of what drugs to have on hand?

Not talking about narcotics, but things like Rocephen (strong injectable antibiotic), Z-Packs, tetracycline, Aspirin, etc?

I do not think that would work so well. due to two factors. When roasted, the outer layer of the been comes off - called chaff - it is a thin translucent parchment like substance and there's quite a bit of it.

The beans need to be roasted at a high heat in the 460 - 530 degree range for 5 - 10 minutes. They need to be constantly agitated so that they roast evenly and do not scorch.

It can be done on a stove or grill in one of those old school Whirley Pop poppers like this.

I have one of them and a couple of ones like the one below for SHTF

I have been thinking about buying a drum roaster that roasts coffee on a BBQ grill. They sell them on eBay.

Air popcorn poppers work very well but some have a screen that can clog with chaff and I have heard they can catch fire. The Fresh Roast roaster are basically an air popcorn popper adapted to roasting coffee. They have a fitting on top that catches and retains the chaff while roasting which greatly simplifies what can be an otherwise messy task.

Important safety tip: Never ever let your attention wander from an operating coffee roaster.
