FOX News reported Bret Baier just blamed Senator Ted Cruz for Kevin McCarthy dropping from the race for Speaker.

Louie Gohmert called into the Mark Levin show a few nights ago and told Mark that Webster will decentralize the Speakers power just like he did in Florida and even though Jason Chaffetz has a higher conservative rating, that won’t happen with him.
Good for Ted Cruz, Mark Levin for standing up and saying what needed to be said....
I would support Trey Gowdy for Speaker....

I have been disgusted with Renee Ellmers, but she has done a great service to our nation.
She screwed McCarthy out of the speaker ship.
The only person to blame here is McCarthy himself.
His screw-up on Bengazi alone showed he wasnt ready for his current job let alone the speakership. The Congress shouldn’t be conducting political witch hunts, so if thats what he really thought of what Gowdy was doing he should have manned up and used his position to call it off. He not only showed his own partisan cravenness, but also ruined what I think we all know and believe was a serious and legitimate investigation.
The guy shouldn’t be denied the Speakership, he should be forced to resign his current leadership post and his seat.
Mark Steyn is subbing for Limbaugh today and Louie Gohmert has been talking to him about this. I did not hear much of what he had to say but Steyn is going to be discussing this after the break.

Hopefully the message is received that the next Speaker should not be soft on immigration, particularly regarding ignoring existing immigration laws.
Erick Erickson has a theory as to why McCarthy is dropping out, and it revolves around rumors that have been circulating in Washington with increasing velocity of an affair between McCarthy and Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC).
There’s a guy out in America who has emails for a massive number of members of Congress and the email addresses of highly influential conservatives outside Congress. A few days ago, he emailed out to 91 people, including these members of Congress, an email with a series of links to stories alleging a relationship between Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Renee Ellmers of North Carolina. It is worth nothing that the two deny a relationship. But the email began circulating pretty heavily. Conservatives were buzzing about it. The first line pointed to the current scandal about Denny Hastert and concluded suggesting that if the rumor about McCarthy and his personal life were true, he was a national security risk.
The MSM hates Cruz so I wonder if they realize this only helps him, I’d say McCarthy’s own stupidity was the dropping point.
