Will Russia’s ‘holy war’ save Syria’s Christians?
The Catholic Herald ^ | Sept 30 2015 | Ed West

America and Britain have helped to endanger minorities in the Middle East

The war in Syria has taken a significant turn these past few months, with the migrant crisis and the intervention of Russia. Even a few months ago one might have expected Bashar al-Assad’s downfall, and two years ago one would have bet the house on it.

Now, with the refugee crisis seriously threatening Europe’s governments and the almost comic ineffectiveness of American-trained Syrian rebels, Western leaders seem resigned to accepting Russian’s involvement and some sort of truce that allows Assad to stay.

Whatever one thinks of Vladimir Putin, he has certainly outplayed Barack Obama in Syria; four years after the start of this tragedy Russia is much stronger in the Middle East, and the United States is weaker. There are reasons for this.

As this piece in the Spectator and this one in The Week by Michael Brendan Dougherty point out, Putin’s approach to Syria has actually been more rational than America’s. The American and British policy of backing a Gulf-sponsored uprising has been either woefully naïve or quite cynically designed to curry favour with the Saudis.

There’s something especially sinister about the way our governments have followed a Wahhabi-led scheme to overthrow a secular dictatorship, a revolution that would almost certainly endanger Christians in the land of St Paul.

Russia's Holy War is also the end of Europe as we know it, and the beginning of WWIII.

We BLEW it. The american't sheeple erected a faggoty scumbag marxist who did exactly what he said he would in fundamentally transforming the US. good is bad, up is down, our friends are enemies, and vice versa.

Yes Pooty Poot is killing ISIS like we should have. But he is doing it to establish a "permanent" presence there. Once there, he will never leave. He reasons that if we did it, he can, too. Then he sweeps in every direction in the mooselime world, andpushes west towards Europe to take back what is the Orthodox Church's, according to their warped national theology, which he and his Rasputin Aleksander Dugin use conveniently as a means to an end.

Europe will be near death from the mooselime invasion, and we will be too weak, if not totally destroyed by then. Then on to Israel...

At least we get "saved" in the end...

They should be looking for Jesus to save them not Putin.
Putin is not there to save anyone
He is there for the oil
The Chinese are there for the oil
The Iranians are pouring in there to position themselves to invade Israel

5/6 of these will be dead for what they are planning
Read Ezekiel 38

Putin tried to get world leaders to help stop the wholesale slaughter of Christians two years ago - With the jihadists now flooding Europe with a free hand - and knowing that some 2,500 ISIS trained Chechnyans in Syria are ready to go back to Russia - he couldn’t wait any longer.

Natanyahu is with him - I trust Netanyahu - one helluva lot more than anyone in DC - or even Freepers.

We can only know a year or two down the line. We will see what History says. It might make Putin a savior or a scoundrel. Or it might make Obama the bad guy or saint. We can only sit back and see how it sorts out—BUT Russia will need more ground troops.

Putin is doing a far better job and a far better thing than our own sorry leader.
