An actor best known for his roles in the television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Criminal Minds" got into an argument with a girlfriend, choked her and was arrested, police said Thursday.

Nicholas Brendon, who played Xander Harris on "Buffy" from 1997 to 2003 and Kevin Lynch on "Criminal Minds" from 2007 to 2014, faces charges of robbery, obstruction of breathing and criminal mischief, Saratoga Springs police Lt. Bob Jillson said.

The girlfriend told police officers who were called to a downtown hotel on Wednesday night that she had gone to return property to Brendon and told him she intended to leave, Jillson said. But Brendon objected, grabbed her car keys and then threw her cellphone into the street when she tried to call for help, a police report said.

"It sounds like it went downhill from there," Jillson said. "He allegedly grabbed her by the throat and started choking her."

Why not? I’ve met him at a convention, and he was nothing but polite and gracious to everyone that approached him. HE and his twin brother were there and both kissed me on the cheek.
I know that he’s had alcohol problems and was in rehab recently, sometimes people with addictions really need to hit rock bottom, hopefully this will be the wake-up call he needs to get sober and stay that way.

You clicked on it. If you’re not interested don’t. Meanwhile this guy graced many of our TV screens for a number, it’s perfectly natural to feel a certain connection to somebody who “comes into” your home on a regular basis. It’s nothing lowly in the intellect, it’s a natural human reaction. The emotional center of the brain doesn’t really get that they aren’t there, it says “I see you every week in my living room, we must be friends”. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
