FYI, by the way that they set up their server....everyone who logged onto Chaffetz’s records...probably left a trail. So the IG will pull up the trail....note all of those involved, and start to drag them into interviews. If you were looking for one of ten stupid ways to get fired from a gov’t agency...this is way up near the top three ways. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

Oh, by the way, these are the people who protect the life of the president.

To be fair to the Secret Service, they also have jobs that matter, even now. Hopefully, after January 20, 2017, they will have a real president to protect, and that part of their job will matter again too.

We need to get the names of these people, so we can do our own research and then post it...let the people know who are being hired by such slimy superiors.....

I predict a few weeks paid vacation days for a few select SS personnel.

This does lead credence to the speculation that Roberts and other sellouts (too many to count in the HOR and US Senate) might be blackmailed.

It's pretty funny if the scandal comes to light because they expose a guy for....apply to the Secret Service for a job. Really? Is that the best they can do against this guy?

“Speaker Boehner has honorably served this country and I am grateful for his leadership. I thank him for his faithful service to this great country, for the opportunities he has entrusted to me, and for his personal friendship. My best wishes to John, his wife Debbie, and their family.”

Can’t say I really GAF what happens to this POS. He deserves whatever crap they give him since he so willingly dumped his own on the rest of our heads.

Hmmm... I know Joe Clancy (now the Director of the USSS) pretty well. Just imagine what juicy things the Service could tell about Obama, Biden and their families, but they’re expressly forbidden from doing so. The stories about the Clintons - both of them, and the Gore family are legion.

The #1 rule of bureaucracy is that you protect the bureaucracy first and foremost

Then you make sure your budget continues to grow, along with headcount, which requires that it also increase it’s scope of responsibility constantly as well.

The Secret Service is no exception. Government, government bureaucracies, and government employees all are extremely sensitive to any criticisms - and not because they care about anything other than their self-preservation and continual growth.

That is the true reason for government spying. It’s not national security (that’s a side mission) it’s to protect the bureaucracy.

Any politician that criticizes the bureaucracy is seen as creating a prelude to a budget cut. That will not do. In this case, they attacked the messenger because he wasn’t “good enough” for the secret service to work there.

I don’t know much about the Congressman - but I doubt he is as corrupt as the secret service has demonstrated itself to be. Maybe that is why he wasn’t hired?

One must extrapolate and wonder if perhaps the secret service would let things happen to those under it’s protection if they are critical of the bureaucracy.

If you were a small government politician intent on reducing the size and scope (and cost) of government, I’m not sure you can trust any bureaucracy that would undermine anyone that is critical of it as the SS has done.

That, of course, is the unstated concern of this scandal. What wouldn’t the secret service do to stop criticism?

Well we now know they will not stop at exposing sensitive information in their care. What if that included the schedule and location of small-government politicians during a presidential campaign that they were supposedly given to assist in protecting said politicians?

Do we know that they wouldn’t expose that information too? Why would anyone think they would keep that information secure at this point?

That is why this is important - and why everyone....everyone who accessed these files on the congressman needs to be immediately terminated with prejudice. Today.

The Daily Beast must be subpoenaed to provide its source within the secret service that provided this information for their story - and when found - given hard time.

The new head of the SS has to go - he didn’t see the corruption in his organization - what else did he miss? Let the new head of the SS find out.

Otherwise, If they value their lives, small-government politicians better provide for their own security, because you never know if the SS will actively or passively assist those who benefit from your removal from the political process.

It’s not beyond-the-pale to ask these questions.
