Why Rawlings-Blake won’t “fail upward” and be Maryland’s next Senator
Coach is Right ^ | 9/29/15 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

For Black Democrats, especially young female Black Democrats, failing upward should be easy. The Democrats don’t elect their candidates on issues or competency; they win on open demographic appeals. Who fits the classic Democrat demographic better than Stephanie Rawlings-Blake? My goodness she is young, Black, female, a mom and even has a hyphenated name! The fact that she is an incompetent fraud means nothing in her world.

Nevertheless, she will not take the senate seat being vacated by Barbara Mikulski.

Since Maryland is a Democrat vote plantation it’s easy to assume the failed Mayor of Baltimore will simply deign to run and wait for her coronation. This time it won’t happen that way.

Certainly the incredible mess she has made of Baltimore won’t help; but it won’t particularly hurt her either since her Black Voter Plantation base would vote for her regardless of her extraordinary incompetence. To the contrary, she will not be elected because of the new kind of politics that is sweeping the nation.

She will likely be running with a failed Democrat retread at the top of her ticket against a Republican candidate backed by an energized conservative wave not seen in Maryland or elsewhere for decades. Make no mistake...

She punishes the good guys and gives the law breakers free rein to commit crime. Maybe she should apply for a job in the White Mosque?

She would get large majorities in Baltimore city and PG county. Whether that would be enough to get her elected I don’t know. I know it’s happened before but it’s been a long time since MD had a GOP senator. Charles ‘Mac’ Matthias I believe.

When did she announce she was running for the Senate?

Mathias won his third and last term in 1980, but he was VERY left-wing. Had he run again in 1986, he was considering switching parties. The last non-leftist GOP Senator elected was J. Glenn Beall, Jr. in 1970.

This presumes that the cow would get the nomination. I have my doubts.

Donna Edwards, a black, woman, communist, member of the House of Representatives has signaled she’ll run for the seat. Also Van Hollen, one of Plelosi’s main lieutenants, is running. The Baltimore cow would be lucky to run third in this race.

As far as I know, she has not announced, and, last I heard, Cummings has plans for the Red Dwarf’s seat.

The Black Caucus has anointed Rep. Donna Edwards. They can’t have several Black candidates splitting the vote. The party establishment does NOT want Edwards as the nominee, they want Christopher Van Hollen, since they could have a repeat of the Governor’s race. White Democrats don’t particularly like Black Democrats that represent hyper-Black districts as Edwards does, since they’re usually racist and have little use for Whites (and the feeling is mutual).
