Living in Texas, does not make one a Texan (not to a born and bred Texan anyway).
Yep, my new neighbors are from Illinois. The husband said, I guess we’re Texans now.” I replied, “Not exactly.”
Not that I’d give a damn what born and bred Texans might consider me (and no offense to Texans, I don’t give a hoot what anyone anywhere considers me). Here’s a dose of actual reality — being a legal resident of Texas renders one a Texan.
Some Texans are more equal than others...and some of us are Texian’s and have bloodlines from 1731 when this was New Spain and in 1836 when Santa Anna’s tyranny had reached its peak descendents of those original colonials along the Anglos raised arms for liberty so yes some of us are more Texan than others ;-)
