No one is bashing the pope. We are having fellowship and speaking God’s Truth. God is at work here and He is NOT PC!

Do you know the meaning of the term “Non Sequitur”?

But there’s scarcely a bigger pain in the ass to be found among the brothers and sisters than a militant Catholic. I fear you are one of those.

Otherwise known as "Former Protestants."

Okay, what do Catholics teach about, say, a Baptist who has been baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit? In the Church or not?

What Sacraments are recognized in, say, Lutheranism?

Was raised RCC, fell away in my teens. After my divorce, I thought that I should be doing something for my daughters on weekends,, so I began attending an Episcopal Church. Was active in that church until they started getting flaky in the early nineties. Drifted a bit and came to my current church home which is Assemblies of God. I’ve been with this church for about seventeen years and am content with it. Jesus is my personal Lord and Savior and has guided me through quite a bit of thick and thin.

He went with Christ.
He had the real thing right there.
Christ left his apostles behind to make a church for anyone else not so lucky.

Yes, do you know the meaning of the term "analogy?"

The pope’s OWN comments speak for themselves in those links. Look at them for yourself. I guess the truth hurts so you try and nonsense about briefings. Really? I am BLESSED to be a TOP OFFICER in my command AND through the entirety of my 28 years of military service. I don’t have to prove anything to you.

Stick to the pope’s blasphemy. He needs prayer and so do you.

Pope is right. How can you understand the bible...you cant understand a guy in a video!

Faith without works is no faith. Saying you habe a relationship with Jesus without being a part of the christian church community, is dead faith. You must be with your brother in community, with its problems, not alone just you and Jesus. To think otherwise is a dangerous assumption/temptation.

It cannot just be you and Jesus because He died not just for you, but for your brothers too...

You have to really close your mind to not plainly see this in what he is saying. Stop hating in Jesus name....that is not a relationship

It’s ironic...

Whenever this pope’s words are interpreted as if he’s going against Catholic doctrine, he’s criticized.

And, now, when his words are interpreted to be in line with Catholic doctrine, he’s criticized.

>> Yes, do you know the meaning of the term “analogy?”

I sure do!

Alone, and as used with adjectives... e.g. “poor analogy”, “misplaced analogy”, “inappropriate analogy”, “analogy that exists only in the fever-swamps of the proponent’s mind”, etc.

The Catholic Church is authoritarian. Which is why it is dying.

I'm not that familiar with Lutheran doctrine. I DO know they hold to "baptismal regeneration," unlike most Evangelicals.

We all need prayer.

We also need context. Like I said, when you gave briefings in the Army, you provided context. You are allowed to post original sources with full context here as opposed to one-liners and random blogs. Better information leads to better evaluation.

This is true, but not many of us REALLY accept that. It doesn't mean that we have to be a member of the catholic church. Jesus taught us to love our neighbor as ourselves. And when a pharisee said "who is our neighbor?" He told them the story of the Good Samaritan. Today he might have told us the story of the good illegal immigrant. And most of us would not accept his teaching about who is our brother, just like the pharisees rejected it back then.

If you think only the catholic church are your brothers you have missed the gospel.

For that matter, what Church did John the Baptist attend?

You're missing the point. The Church is the Divinely established manifestation of Christ's everlasting presence in the world after His death and resurrection.

This is the point of one of the most powerful allegories in the Gospels: the feeding of the masses with the loaves and the fishes. The loaves of bread and the fish in this Gospel passage represent the Old Law and the Prophets. Under normal circumstances (human limitations) these could never "feed" thousands of people, but through grace Christ can do this easily. And yet the Divine plan did not involve the redemption of man all at once. The numerical items in that Gospel have an important meaning. After eating all they needed at that point in time, the crowd of several thousand people left enough behind to fill twelve baskets. This represents the deposit of faith that would be revealed over time through the Church of Christ, represented by the twelve apostles.

Catholic doctrine on this is very clear, in terms of the importance of an institutional Church. If you eat your loaves and fishes (i.e., you accept what Christ offers right then and there) and settle for that, you've missed out on that part of His grace that comes from the twelve baskets.

I guess the truth hurts. Jesus said..

“If you abide in My Word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

(John 9:31-32)

The pope does not abide in the Word of God, otherwise he would know that a “personal” relationship is what Jesus seeks with ALL human beings. And, we don’t have to belong to a building (RCC) to be saved by Grace through Faith in CHRIST!

Pray for your pope, he needs it.
