For the God of the Bible I believe in, the incident was not an accident, He permitted it if not authorized it, and it is too late to pray for this man. Whatever his future will be, it is now settled. Some believe in a purgatory, but I do not.

What I would (and do) pray is that God and His children would minister to the living according to Scripture, and that He might use this experience to bring them all closer to Him and each other. I believe that approach exactly conforms to both His determined Will and His permissive Will.

Perhaps pondering on this will affect you the same way. Let's not be maudlin about it, but praise the Christ who 'doeth all things well.'

For God NOTHING is impossible (Jeremiah 32:27; Luke 1:37; Matthew 19:26). God exists outside of linear time, which He created. He has no such constraints. I put my trust in HIM and pray for the entire family. Let us praise God for His Truth and His great mercy. We rejoice in His goodness!
