Briefcase Clock Maker UPDATE: Kid admits forethought – knew it was going to be “suspicious”
Conservative Treehouse ^ | Sep 18, 2015 | Sundance

UPDATE: In his own words Ahmed Mohamed, 14, an Irving MacArthur High student essentially states he knew taking the device to school was controversial. Listen at 1:26 video: “I closed it with a cable, so… because, I didn’t want to lock it to make it seem like a threat so I just used simple cable…. so it won’t look that much suspicious”.

Update#2 – We are not the only people to pick up on the admitted “intent”. Follow THIS LINK – To see exactly how it was engineered and the kids’ story gets even more sketchy.

Riiiiiight. You don’t need the guts of a Radio Shack alarm clock to make a detonator...

...and if I packed your car full of ANFO and wired a blasting cap to it, your car would be a bomb. Shall we have you arrested on that basis?

Well, dumbass, if you put several steel barrels in the back of my truck with wires going from one to the other you should be arrested for it. Whether it's a real bomb or not.

That would be a fair analogy.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Because it's a reasonable expectation that all average citizens would know that. LOL

Load of crap. Ahmed’s device was the guts of a Micronta alarm clock. I’ll dig up the references when I get home.

Your analogy is the dumbassed one. There were no simulated explosives or detonators in Ahmed’s case, unlike the barrels in your example.

True...we ARE talking about public schoolteachers here, and they are even dumber than the average person.

I’ll ask again. How would you know there wasn’t a pound of plastic explosives pressed flat into the side of the case?

Yeah - we know that now.

At the time it started beeping in the middle of English class the teacher became concerned upon seeing a box with some electronics flopping around and they went to the Principal’s office who called the cops.

That’s because the teacher is technologically illiterate. If you’re not smart enough to look at that pile of crap and recognize it as harmless, maybe you shouldn’t be teaching at high school level.

And you expect any average person to be an IED/explosives expert. Brilliant!

Why don’t you make a “clock” just like Ahmed’s and take it through airport security where they have experts? If not then why not?

If you defend this test run in any way, you are part of the problem.

They knew it wasn't a bomb.

I said: it’s sad they thought that kid had a bomb.

She said: they didn’t think he had a bomb.

I said: yes, they thought he made a bomb and
even called the police.

She said: They just wanted to humiliate a little
Muslim, African boy. They didn’t think he had a
bomb.

I said: Don’t be a conspiracist. They might be a
little prejudiced, but I’m sure they thought he
had a bomb.

She said: Ok.
But they didn’t evacuate the school, like you do
when there’s a bomb.
They didn’t call a bomb squad - like you do
when there’s a bomb.
They didn’t get as far away from him as
possible
- like you do when there’s a bomb.
Then they put him and the clock in an office-
not like you do when there’s a bomb.
Then they waited with him for the police to
arrive.

Then they put the clock in the same car as the
police.

Then they took pictures of it.

I said: Damn

They never thought he had a bomb.

Or this is just a trial run like the flying imams, I'll let the readers decide.

You are mixing up your situations. This kid wasn’t boarding a plane, but TSA are so damned dumb that he could probably carry on an RPG if he wanted to.

When Ahmed’s miniature briefcase “clock” did precipitate such concerns, he refused to answer questions from school personnel and police about “his intentions and why he had brought the device to school.” Presumably, they were particularly interested in knowing whether he had brought anything else to school – perhaps to include the other part of such a bomb: the explosive component.

Under the circumstances and in accordance with protocols adopted in Irving – and in school districts across America to protect students and faculty from the sorts of attacks that have resulted in mass murders in several instances, Ahmed was taken into custody.

I see, according to you TSA is too damn dumb to know a bomb when they see it but high school teachers should be able to identify every component of one at a glance.

You’re an irrational looney tune and a terrorist enabler.
