I am of the opinion that if a multi-millionaire conservative (I am working towards that) wanted to significantly impact the long term direction of the US, they should create a home school system that included:

- instruction for parents (teach how to teach)
- education for the kids (with strong morals and Pro-America message)
- a system for testing and grading the students
- tips for dealing with school districts
- state by state review of laws

And make it all free over the internet.

Basically take over the home school market and then work to get the curriculum into school districts. That would have the potential for a huge impact.

Great post...

Your last point is a fantasy...the NRA is far too powerful to allow God fearing, love america, accurate history curriculum to enter pass the school entrance...

I’ve always thought that the local Christian churches should include subsidizing home schooling expenses of members’ children. Include it in the Missions program.

It sounds nice, but too many people homeschool for too many different reasons using too many methods and types of material, and educational theories for it to ever be practical.

Plus, a lot of us reject testing and many, perhaps most, would reject any central curriculum or record keeping. I would, in both cases.

Where data exists, data mining occurs. No thank you.

Parents do just fine without being taught how to teach, thanks.
