This is the perfect opportunity to defeat the establishment, who are currently weakened, disoriented and perplexed at the success of candidates they consider jackasses.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! This week at a Colorado fundraiser House Speaker John Boehner stunned donors when he referred to Texas Senator Ted Cruz as a jackass. During remarks at the event for Congressman Scott Tipton, Boehner said he was grateful that Cruz was often campaigning for President, which kept that jackass away from Capitol Hill.
Of course if there is one person who is an expert on jackasses it is Boehner. Along with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Boehner hates Cruz and the small band of courageous conservatives who oppose the lame congressional leadership.
In his Senate career, Cruz has led filibusters, attempted to withdraw funding from Obamacare and the Presidents executive order granting amnesty to illegal aliens. In a recent speech, he blasted McConnell for lying about backroom deals made to pass the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement.
Wow. Just... wow.
Cruz is everything the orange bartender isn’t. The squealing Weeper is part of the DC cartel.
I’ve heard Trump called the same....
Maybe we need a few more Jackassess in gov’t. Cruz and Trump are our Jackasses and that’s how it should be.
Another Freeper refers to Boehner as “the weeping Cheeto”. Works for me
I bet that Boner never calls his golf buddy Obama a jackass.
Since my total severing of ties to the GOP, I rarely use the name "Boehner" without a descriptive preceding it, and it is never "jackass." Even my rather straight-laced, octogenarian, lifetime Republican mother has no problem with sonny boy using an F-bomb when the subject of that fu
er... "jackass" Bohner (or the senatorial Tweedledee to his Tweedledum) comes up.
The Weepin' Cheeto is for polite online company, and it helps me conserve F fluid.
Mr. niteowl77
A bunch of spineless twits calling him "leader", or even electing him their "leader" has not made him a leader, and it never will.
I am amazed that many, even here on Free Republic think the Republican Party is a conservative party. With the exception of two, possibly three administrations and one short period in the 1990s, the Republican party has been mostly a ‘progressive’ party. For the most part they hate and fear conservatives. Then there is the fact that we are an embarrassment to them.
All Boehner is doing is saying aloud what the party leaders usually say in private.
This just shows how SCARED they are of Trump. Boener knows that he’s elevating Cruz in the eyes of conservatives by making his statement...perhaps an indirect way of try to have Cruz rip a bit of flesh off of Trump (or something like that).
Silly, of course, but The Establishment is clearly out of options regarding direct assaults on Trump...and, to them, at this point, Cruz even looks good, compared to Trump.
Boener, for example, knows that if Trump is elected President, Trump will likely be able to REPLACE him as Speaker simply by calling on House Republicans to rise up and topple him.
The fear of Trump is incredible to these assholes. Look at it this way - you work in upper management for big company, have a job that pays $300k per year, and now you hear of a hostile takeover from a company famous for simply wiping out all of the execs of their target businesses - that’s how these guys feel. With Trump running things, there will not be a single safe job in Republican politics (other than, maybe, and elected office holder). Every other ‘insider’ will be toast, and they know it.
This is the result of the virtually mandated two party system we have. It is virtually impossible for anyone not one of these two parties to get elected to national office with the exception of a few isolated congressional offices.
Agree with your observation but think you would agree that we haven’t had a “two-party” system since Reagan.
blackmailed,blackmailed..........
Cruz should respond that at least a jackass is a male, not a (fill in the word) like S/he is.
How did Congressman Scott Tipton respond to Boner’s comments?
