Trump Praises His Sister, a Pro-Abortion Extremist Judge

Trump Praises His Sister, a Pro-Abortion Extremist Judge by Ramesh Ponnuru August 27, 2015

Donald Trump told Mark Halperin yesterday that his sister, a federal judge, would be a “phenomenal” Supreme Court justice. He also said that “we will have to rule that out now, at least.” If he ever becomes president, let’s hope he rules it out permanently. Maryanne Trump Barry came up in my book The Party of Death for writing one of those heated judicial decisions in favor of giving constitutional protection to partial-birth abortion.

She called a New Jersey law against it a “desperate attempt” to undermine Roe v. Wade. It was, she wrote, “based on semantic machinations, irrational line-drawing, and an obvious attempt to inflame public opinion instead of logic or medical evidence.” It made no difference where the fetus was when it “expired.”

So: The right of abortionists to make a child “expire” by partially extracting her from the womb, sticking scissors in the back of her head, vacuuming out her brain, and crushing her skull to complete her extraction, is right there in the Constitution. But let’s please not have any “semantic machinations.

Reagan never said his son would be a great federal appointee with life time tenure.

Principled? He’s taken more positions on more issues than Mitt Romney.

Apparently, we agree he’s no conservative. We don’t need another liberal, principled or otherwise.

“Trump is NOT a Conservative”.

He’s as “conservative” as any candidate in the race with the exception of Cruz.

Any one who disparages and hates their sister based on ideology is a total idiot. My own sister is a democrat and Hillary supporter. But I will never stop loving her. If she needed my kidney, I will be the first in line.

But there is also great news. She actually is considering voting republican if Trump is the nominee.

Tonight Bloody Megyn once again tried to lure Trump into another fight when she mentioned to Tony Perkins that Trump is getting 30% of evangelical votes. Her’s how she put the question Tony Perkins. “You know he has taken extreme positions in the past. He was not only for abortion but he was for partial birth abortion”. Perkins: “Well Megyn usually you can see how someone will vote in the future by their past history”. Then the worthless bush-wackering Bush loving Kelly said “good seeing you tonight Tony”. She didn’t bother telling Perkins that Trump used to be a democrat but has now switched parties and is pro-life.

How on earth anyone can’t see what this low life is trying to do is beneath me. She had been given order by Ailes to badmouth Trump single night, just hoping he’ll take the bait again and lower the boom on her sorry ass. Hopefully he won’t take the bait, but it surprise me if he does. This is getting old. The entire Fox News team makes me want to puke.

http://www.thepoliticalinsider.com/not-many-people-know-this-about-trumps-sister-but-they-should/

Maryanne Trump Barry was nominated as a Federal District Judge by President Reagan in 1983. Bill Clinton then appointed her to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 1999.

Trump called his sister for advice after Megyn Kelly painted him as misogynist at the first Republican primary presidential debate. He said his sister was supportive. The New York Times reports that Trump said he and his sister hold similar views and she has given him advice on how to behave during his campaign.

Talking about his past positions on abortion (or any other issue, for that matter) is not “trying to lure Trump into another fight.” It’s a legitimate issue, and there was nothing wrong with her line of questioning to Perkins.

I get a big kick out of Trump. But voting for him is too much of a gamble.

Yeah - if he's the last one standing then it makes perfect sense to allow the Commies another 8 years to finish us off...

“Right now I’d take Huckabee”

Huckabee is for amnesty, as far as I can tell.

Ronald Reagan was at one time pro-abortion and signed some of the biggest pro-abortion laws in the history of California. Reagan changed his views.......the same way others have changed their views, including Trump. Megyn Kelly sounds exactly like any other liberal “reporter” with her gotcha questions. She was trying to use the same tactic on Ted Cruz the other night and he would not fall for it and called her out on it.

Cruz hits Megyn Kelly on ‘liberal journalist’ question

Cruz is definitely the most conservative, but Trump is far more Liberal than even all the RINOs in the race. Check his record.

“but Trump is far more Liberal than even all the RINOs in the race.”

One big difference. He has never held elective off and whatever views he had before he became a republican didn’t affect the welfare of this country. The elected RINOs voted with Obama every time their elbowed bent and have cowered down to him like a dog in heat.

Actually, most of the elected RINOs have probably voted against Obama 90% of the time. It is the 10% that makes them RINOs.

I would argue that it is much easier for a non-politician to maintain an idealogically pure record as elected officials are often pressured to give in for political reasons. Trump did not make all those Left Wing comments over all the years to try to get elected, so I have to assume he believed what he said, or has no real beliefs and just loves to pontificate.

Thank you for the ping, hoosiermama.

The National Review, George Will, Charles Krauthammer, et al can GTH. I'm not buy the anti-Trump crap they're peddlin'.

My mind is made up regarding Mr. Trump. I have too much respect for FReepers who hold differing views of him to engage in arguments, save for the small minority who state that they will stay home, rather than vote for Trump if he is the nominee.

I apologize for missing pings! They get lost in all our FReepathon graphics.

Dear God. 2 month long FReepathons are taking a toll, in so many ways.

Wish there were more who paid just a little. 2 month used to be a few weeks. More giving more and more giving less. Know there was a time when my card had been compromised and didn’t think about FR auto take out. Are there others in that position. Audit time with gentle notices to those no longer connected ?
