BETRAYED: STEPHEN HARPER’S WAR ON PRINCIPLED CONSERVATISM – A REVIEW
Jay Currie ^ | August 16, 2015 | Jay Currie

Various people have asked me why I will not vote for Stephen Harper and the Conservatives in this election. While the Cons’ failure to seriously tackle the deficit, reduce the size of government and begin to dismantle the Liberal state are all good reasons, I probably would hold my nose one more time if it were not for one, fundamental fact: C-51. And I might have even given Harper a pass on C-51 if I didn’t know the Conservative record on free speech, the perversion of the Human Rights Commission and the legal thuggery which attended it.

Connie Fournier and her husband Mark are not going to be voting for the Harper Conservatives either: Connie has detailed her reasons in Betrayed: Stephen Harper’s war on principled conservatism.

In Canada grassroots conservatives are fighting establishment Conservatives just as Americans are fighting the Establishment GOP.

Betrayed: Stephen Harpers War on Principled Conservatives is about a part of our fight and the attacks we have come under for having the audacity to allow principled conservatives to speak freely on the internet.

It took a third party called the “Reform Party” to shake things up in Canada after the CINO’s who openly called themselves the “Progressive Conservative Party” imposed a national sales tax on Canadians in the 1980’s.

Out of that 10 years plus period when the Liberal Party ruled came the new “Conservative Party of Canada” and Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

I guess the CPC went back to the business as usual of the PCP before it. They just changed the name of the party.

There will be no room in the new world order for
“PRINCIPLED CONSERVATISM”.

Nor will there exist a representative republic or a bill of
rights. There will only be fascism.

The Obama is a fascist. The democrat party is fascist.
And the GOPe are fascist frauds.

This is Coup d’etat. We have been taken over.

Hello again.

So we're not to vote for Harper, and I can't vote NDP, Liberal or Green Party. So we're just supposed to not vote at all. Okay, I can see where that worked very well in the last American election. Any other ideas?

Hi, D-man!

The actual answer to this problem would have been for CPC members to hold their leader accountable before he started passing legislation that eviscerates our privacy and freedom of speech. But, nobody would do it.

Now we have a Prime Minister that is making laws that we would NEVER excuse if they came from another political party, because he knows that his base is too afraid of the alternatives to make him stop.

There are worse things than being in Opposition and having to push another party to do what is right. We've done that before. The worst thing is to have an unaccountable leader who is like a bull in a china shop, destroying the very fabric of our freedom and democracy and giving us the finger while he does it, because he knows we will vote for him anyway.

My ideal scenario is that he will lose his majority and step down so that we can start rebuilding everything he has destroyed.

I will spoil my ballot before I vote for any person or party who had any part in Bill C-51.

Hi Connie

So if the dog hadn't stopped to ... he would have caught the rabbit. What you're saying is, coulda, woulda, shoulda. Too late for that, now. So, what is your suggestion? Not vote at all?

"There are worse things than being in Opposition and having to push another party to do what is right."

Oh, really? Depends on who's in charge. Some people said let Obama have it for four years, how bad could it get? Yeah, how bad could it get ...

I’m deadly serious when I say that there isn’t anything that the NDP or the Liberals could do that would be worse than what Harper has done or is planning to do.

He passed legislation that allows secret trials where a judge can issue a warrant that allows government spy agencies to violate our Charter Rights. The latitude that they have is so wide that they had to explicitly add to the bill that they aren’t allowed to rape us or kill us!

They completely rejected any of the amendments that could have protected innocent citizens from abuse. The Pandora’s Box that Harper has opened here is the most terrifying thing I have ever seen.

Now he is talking about creating a list of places where Canadians can’t travel. I know terrorism is a problem, but we have a government that is willing to completely trash our freedom in the name of security.

On top of that, most conservatives absolutely refuse to call him on it. I would rather stand with a bunch of fellow conservatives and fight a potentially abusive Liberal or NDP government than stand by myself opposing Harper.

Read the book and see a Harper you might not be so quick to vote for. Connie knows what she speaks of first hand, I assure you.
