I really think it’s too late for any of the candidates to change positions. IF they do, it would come across as a lie. They have made their positions known, and can’t backtrack at this point.

Yes, Trump is not a conservative. But the US is run by an oligarchy. This ruling elite will not yield to the “best platform.” It must be dislodged forcefully. Trump is the only one talking in these terms. I simply can’t imagine any other candidate, including Ted Cruz, being able to do this dirty work of destroying the power of the oligarchy.
Trump may fail, or not even get the chance. But if he does and succeeds, the groundwork will have been laid for the reconstruction of the republic under Cruz. If Trump is nominated, he will win. Cruz should be placed in a position of power and influence in preparation for his becoming president in 2024.
