Ranking the 10 men most likely to win the 2016 Republican nomination (¡Jeb!)
WAPO ^ | Aug. 2, 2015 | Chris Cillizza

The obvious problem when trying to rank the 10 people most likely to wind up as the Republican presidential nominee next year can be summed up in two words: Donald Trump.

On one hand, Trump is ahead in most national polls on the nominating contest — an NBC-Wall Street Journal poll out Sunday puts him at 19 percent, four points clear of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker — and he even leads (or comes close to leading) in surveys conducted in early-voting states such as Iowa and New Hampshire.

On the other hand, he is Donald Trump.

I put the question of where to rank Trump to the five senior GOP strategists who aren’t working for one of the 17 Republicans running for the nomination. (I kid; there are at least 10 unaligned GOP operatives.) What I got from that group surprised me: They were much more bullish on Trump’s chances than I expected — with several arguing that Trump absolutely belonged in the top tier.

1. Jeb Bush.

Amid all of the Trumpiness of the race’s past six weeks, the former Florida governor has looked more and more like the adult in the room — the one guy willing to stand up and say: “Wait a minute. What exactly are we doing here?”

SNIP

One note: He still has problems with the GOP base.

Ya think?!

The MSM is in full "Let's keep picking the GOP candidate so they will lose" mode.

And there's still months until the election.

Once again, the only people excited about Jeb and Hillary are the media. Jeb and Hillary both have lots and lots of money to buy advertising from the media, and both, secondarily, fit within the "agenda."

Connect the dots.

If Jeb wins the nomination I will vote for the democrat. If that happens I hope it is Sanders because I know that the country club elites cannot work with him “to get things done”. He also says he will enforce the immigration laws. It could be that there will be a third party candidate but, but unless he shows some capacity to win I will vote for the ‘rat. The fecklessness, duplicity and the treachery of the GOP country club is no longer tolerable.

I think it comes down to Jeb, The Donald, and Ted. I’m a Walker supporter, but I think if he loses Iowa his campaign will end in a hurry. The only wildcard I see coming from the pack might be John Kasich. While all of you guys are pointing at Walker as the Bush replacement if Jeb falters the one you need to watch out for is Kasich. Kasich is RINO all the way and he comes from Ohio so the insiders may see him as the Bush alternative.

Jeb has the most advertising dollars. And the media pay 15% kickbacks commissions to Jeb’s advertising agencies. A marriage of convenience.

No, just your typical liberal columnist trying to discourage us before the election.

And, of course we can expect many more telling us who we should vote for.

It never changes.

I put the question... to the five senior GOP strategists...

Right there's your problem, Cizzillar. Five senior GOPe-RINO, Chamber of Commerce funded, elitist strategists...

How many were Karl Rove, David Brooks, George Will...

I caught a few minutes of Karl Rove on Chris Wallace's show today. He was stuttering more than Mel Tillis. Watch for Jeb(the man with no last name) to show up with some new stratigerie PDQ.
