redfreedom: Was not Canada a possession of the British Empire at that time? Would not land possessions like any other possession, such as their naval fleet, been subject to a ceasefire settlement?

dfwgator: The US would take over Canada in that case.

As part the Lend Lease agreement, the British handed over their bases in the Caribbean to the US. There's no way in Hell the US would have allowed Canada to become a neutral country though which the Germans could have staged an invasion of the US. We also wouldn't have allowed any French possessions in the Caribbean to be used by the Germans either.

We also wouldn't have allowed any French possessions in the Caribbean to be used by the Germans either.

And as I referenced above with St Pierre and Miquelon, neither would have the Free French.
