I remember in 1992 when Pat Buchanan ran for the nomination and his slogan was, "America First". Most people thought that was what we wanted our politicians to do....represent their Amercan constituents. Then, WILLIAM BENNETT chimes in (as a GHW Bush devote) and said Buchanan was getting dangerously close to 'flirting' with fascism.
To this day I have not forgiven Bennett for that nonsense.
Ironic, isn’t it? Buchanan and Perot were accused of all kinds of crazy things such as fascism. So us conservative suckers voted the way we were told to. And what did we get? Republican leadership in DC that’s close to 100% fascist, starting with George 1.
